It needs more yellow.
But his point was true. A website logo is a different case to a company logo and comparing the two is a useless exercise.
My mistake. But still, successful web logos still back up my point:

Clearly the consensuses is that the old logo was good and fit the site, so we need to look at that one and pick out the key colors and what not and create something, that does break the law.
I am not a fan of the new logo. However, now that the risk of lawsuit has been dodged for the moment, I'd really like to see the work directed towards getting some of the central components (*cough* directory *cough*) of the site up and running, rather than wasting time changing the logo any more. All of you who don't like it, shut up and make a new one yourself. Smeagol and company have better things to do.
I am not spending any time working on the logo, they can work out the look of this stuff without slowing the progress of the directory. This logo was created while I got a functional version of the review panel tools built.

To be honest I didn't read it. They were laughing, however, so it can't have been good.
Here's one I just knocked up quickly. One has a slight stroke on the bricks, one doesnt. I think any logo we have should incorporate similar colours to this, much like the old one did, and the forum theme still does.

I like the 2d better, but I think that it should have 2 basic colors, and more detail should be put into the studs.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but that one really doesn't do it at all for me. It just looks thrown together - sorry Ash.
Eh, sorry! ![]()
Yeah, it was thrown together. It was mainyl a demonstration of colour. ![]()

I think the colours are a little off, but the idea's there. Perhaps if it's not too much to ask for Smeagol to give your idea his 3D treatment?
That is a lot like a concept I tried and abandoned - the problem I ran into was that 'in' is so much shorter than the other two words that it becomes problematic. I couldn't really find a good way to put the words on multiple bricks or rows of bricks, and I think have "in M" on one brick looks strange. Looks like "in M" and "otion" are two separate entities.
I see more of a "Bricks In Mo tion", not "Bricks In M otion" Maybe it's just me.
I just think the logo needs more colour in it. Right now, all the blue and silver looks extremely bland. I still think the green play triange looks odd, too.
(I'm not trying to be picky, I'm just throwing in my 2 cents.)
