Re: Header & Logo Redesign
I like this new one. The swoosh is a little odd, but it works. What I like is how the space between the studs isn't so great anymore.

For now.

Brickfilming is about creativity, and the logo should be creative too.
Well said.

Delete your cache, that should fix it.
Heh, right. Thanks.
Normally I would try to show some class and not say stuff like that. I've just gotten a little fed up with this thread because several people have brought the buttons up as a problem even though it was the reason I made the thread in the first place. Perhaps I've been obsessing over this logo a bit much, I've gone through several dozen variations of it now over the last few days.
We're leaning away from the orange as it really clashes with the rest of the text on the banner. But we're still exploring a few ideas. The logo is a lot more minimal than the old one, to me that's not really the same thing as empty.
Regarding the display problem in Chrome for Sprinkles: I just installed Chrome (for the first time) to see what you meant, and the menu looks perfect for me. Maybe try wiping out all your stored data, I'm not sure what the issue could be because all the images have the same color profile now.
I think comparing this to 2D corporate logos is a bad idea. This site is not a corporate entity, it's a place full of life and joy and legos! The logo should reflect that, even if that means making it look more complex.
LEGO. It's LEGO.
And that just sounded cheesy, Schlaeps.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones"
But his point was true. A website logo is a different case to a company logo and comparing the two is a useless exercise.
The one with the light text looks extremely bland.
Sorted.
Still prefer this one:
But trademarks and uniformity overule this time.
It's not a bad job on the logo. However, I do agree, it's a little... plain. Colour is your friend!

I say that if you want to go with something more like a corporate logo, then make it a lot simpler. It seems stuck in between somewhere in ugly-ville. Either make it more like an exciting site logo, or make it more like a boring company logo.
Sean want colour.
- edit -
Agreed with above.
