Re: Header & Logo Redesign
Personally, I like the way the new logo looks. Although I think I like it better with the orange titling, it makes it less monochromatic.

I think I know what the problem is for me. The white film seems a little out of place, and with a simple title makes it seem cluttered. Maybe it would look better without the film or play button.
Quite frankly, I didn't like the last logo at all. Twas very confusing to me, minifigs with no faces in farmer torsos.
I think this one is good, although, I'm not digging the SWOOSH.
If it didn't have that I think it would look fine.
I was shocked when I saw the new logo, it looks so bleak and sinister and boring. I don't see what's wrong with the old one. Yes, it has minifigures in it (oh noes, shock horror) but then again, so do the LEGOfan.org website, and LEGO isn't hunting them down. PICSL has the LEGO cat, and they're not being killed by LEGO's legal might. EB and FBTB have minifigs all over their banners, but there's nothing wrong with that. We should use our old logo for now, and if, for some reason, TLC ever do ask for it to be taken down, then we will comply and come up with a new logo. If we comply with them then both sides would stay happy, no harm done.
Orange pls.
I'm with Whittleberry. As I understand it, Lego is pretty lenient with its copyright and as we're essentially a Lego fansite, I doubt they'll come at us with torches, pitchforks and cease & desist letters.
The old Logo was great and to be honest I think it needs to stay.
Exactly. It's not as if we're claiming to have invented the minifig or anything.
Guys, LEGOfan.org is officially sponsored (and partially run) by the LEGO Company. That is why they can use minifigures in their logo and can use "LEGO" in their URL.
This is how serious the LEGO Company is about protecting their trademarks: the popular LEGO blog, Brothers-Brick.com, was denied from using minifigures in their logo, and Brothers-Brick has a very good relationship with the LEGO Company. I know firsthand because I contribute to the Brothers-Brick.
And for the millionth time, this site is NOT a democracy. Do I really have to say it again? A democracy is NOT an efficient way to run a website.
EDIT: To follow up, the LEGO Company is also in very good relations with Peeron, the website that uses the LEGO cat as logo. Also, the LEGO Company is not as protective about other parts as they are of their minifigure.
Website banners are NOT the same as logos.
The logo had to be changed. Accept it, move on, put your energies into something more productive.
Amen, preach it brother.
Well...
THE NEW LOGO STILL LOOKS TERRIBLE.
It makes me feel old when I look at it, it doesn't look up to date.
We don't have to have mini-figures in it, we can have a logo that actually looks good.

If you make the header shorter (which you have done) the sticky will not have enough space. I'm on about that thing on the right hand side.
Dude, I'm not that clueless, I have already made the necessary adjustments.
Regarding the logo: Some of us are pretty happy with it, I understand it's important to people who aren't happy about it too, though. We're going to continue looking at our options.

Want orange in logo.
I agree. If we HAVE to have this logo, it NEEDS colour.
