My opinion of 'Indiana Jones 4' is: It COULD have been far worse. Its not nearly as good as 'Indy 2' but its not as bad as 'Star Wars Episode 1'. It mostly remains true to the originals (with some obvious exceptions - but I see why it needed to deviate slightly) and whilst I hated the Mutt character - he wasn't nearly as annoying as a certain other 'comedic' Lucas sidekick...
I never had a problem with the 'Strongest Fridge in the World' scene. Its silly, but not nearly as silly as jumping out of a air-plane with only an inflatable raft to soften your landing in the water. Besides, it gave us the phrase 'Nuking the Fridge' - because 'Jumping the Shark' was becoming outdated! Thanks Spielberg!
The ending was stupid, I agree, but the UFO] isn't really explained or given much screentime - which actually is a good thing since its soon forgotten about. I have to say though: "To the space between spaces" is the stupidest line I have ever heard. Lucas has his brown-coloured fingerprints all over this movie - which I suppose is why a lot of people really hate it.
Disappointing? Yes. Bad? No. Worst movie ever? Definitely not. I can name at least ten movies off the top of my head that I would consider the worst of all time (Manos, Troll 2, Plan 9, Birdemic, anything with the world 'Holocaust' in it, and anything by Selzerberg or The Asylum)
I definitely do not want there to be a 5th one though.

YES!! It completely fails to simplify and appeal to a younger audience when the original Shakespeare script is still used! Its script is too highbrow, yet the comedy/visual elements are moronically dumbed down. If you want a modern(ish) retelling of Romeo and Juliet...just watch 'A West Side Story'!!
Its basically if 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' had sex with Kenneth Branagh. A terrible combination that fails on every level....
