(edit* not as huge as I thought it'd be)Sorry for the huge image but I felt the urge to show off this new great technique I've been doing. If you have a second monitor I strongly urge you to use it as your "greenscreen"/backdrop. Literally pull up a picture (I created my backdrop in AE and pulled it up) and animate your figures in front of it. If you have a good quality monitor it should look great. It's such a simple idea but I've been blown away at how much time it saved me in the editing room and how much better it actually comes out looking, than using green screen.

My bad, guys. Here's the frame with my words.

@Galactic Films
Great quality, all I can say is you can bring the camera up a bit to give him more head room, unless there is a reason in your movie for the positioning.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Thanks man. Your shot is awesome! Can't wait to see it!:D

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Soppenjim: That's a fantastic frame; I can't wait to see it in action (Also, kudos for making a 20+ minute brickfilm).

@filmyguy: That's just a wonderful, picturesque frame. Great technique as well.

@Galactic Bricks: It's good, but I think Jango Fett needs to be in center just a little further.

Yes, another Man of Steel video! On Flickr it says this for for a commission. Is that directly for LEGO?

Nope, just somebody who wants some animation from me. Not a huge video, Superman has a small appearance. Wish I could make another huge MOS video like before but it's soo much work. mini/sad

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Squid: We started the planning almost two years ago, and have been animating it now and then since September go October 2012. The first shots we animated back then is decent, but since then we've become much better, so I'm a little concerned about how people will receive it. If everything goes well it could be done by the end of the year, but it probably won't be done until spring next year, perhaps. About 9 minutes of animation done so far, I think.

@Juggernaut: Thanks! It's a massive project. At times, the biggest problem is the motivation.

No I used multi-color christmas tree lights. I just stuck an orange light through an opening.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I love it!
@Animax,
The lighting, the framing, the set, all of them are just great.
In fact, everything is awesome... mini/eh

The bright outside/dim inside is surprisingly realistic and is a great touch.
I really can't find anything that I don't like about it.

@Filmyguy,
Looks great, but it seems like the characters are lit with a warmer light that the background. The skin tones seem just a tad more red than normal.

Good to know, I actually haven't done any color correction on it yet, so I'll keep that in mind when I do.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Animax, that frame is great, the set is really good, and the lighting is just phenomenal, far beyond what I usually expect in a brickfilm. mini/smile

Radical. I did the same thing in Pokeballin', it's a really great method for working around keying.

Here's a newly-photographed frame from Holding Our Own: Episode 3.  The original image is in HD, but it's been downsized here for convenience.

the share button is the one that looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it. When you click it a box showing the different social media icons will come up underneath that is an icon that looks like a push pin when you click that it will give you the link that you just copy and paste.
