Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]
It would be nice to enter this... not sure if I will.
Great contest, though, Smeagol.

Can there be more then one entry since the deadline is far away ?
I'm glad that we're getting so much notice about this one. I really wanted to enter STAR, but didn't have time to pull my entry together. I will definitely be entering this. I've already got some ideas bubbling...
Wow, that's a long way away. Would all future BiM contests give us this much time? That seems like a lot, and I thought the time frame for STAR was huge. It's good though, because a theme like this might need a bit more time to come up with something compelling. I'll consider entering if I can come up with an idea or tweak one I have now to fit in here.

It really depends where you live, I guess, for me a July 25 deadline would give me almost all of summer break to work on an entry and I know
For me that's about 1/2 of my summer holiday.

The STAR contest was announced a little late for my taste, basically because it was as soon as I could get it together after becoming admin. If this contest turns out well, we'll probably use a similarly long time frame for future annual contests, yes.

Yes, although I would encourage spending twice the time on a single entry.
I cannot think of anything that pushes the boundaries
HHMM i am definately game for this....but i don't want to jump at it like i did with STAR, (obviously star didnt turn out to great for me due to busyness) I will once again be very busy! with college classes and a job and moving and, hmm lets put aside all that for now and start brainstorming....first things first i can't tell any of my non-virtual friends i am making a movie, because now everywhere i go someone asks me "when is your movie coming out" (which i havent given up on, but most ppl dont know the hardships brickfilming brings) now for an idea....
Wow i havent visited the site in forever!! hm pity, i hate being busy!

This looks like fun, I'll try this one out too
WOW!!! The deadline isn't until July of next year? Gosh! my entry will most likely be done by next week! but I guess with that kind of time we'll see some amazing entry's .

I think a lot of you guys are a bit off-point here. It's perfectly fine that you don't have an idea yet. Use a few weeks to come up with an idea, then go from there, and take your time. I'll throw in a bit of cheese and remind you that Rome wasn't built in a day. There was no THRAC. Use this awesome deadline to come up with something truly innovative.
I agree with Cheshire, it concerns me that some people are nearing completion or are nearly done scripting. For a contest where the concept itself is so central, I would recommend thinking of ideas for at least a week or two before attempting to outline a story. I know I don't feel comfortable scripting anything until I've had a few weeks to think about the idea and whether or not it's really the best it can be.
I'm making a film for Avant Garde called "Stepping Out" (The film in my signature) it will be pretty good!
so can we enter more then one entry, since I know someone will ask that.
Actually, that's already been covered...
Yes, although I would encourage spending twice the time on a single entry.
Phew, just finished.
Now I just have to wait till next year to send it in.

Finished? Already? um...no comment.
