Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

I agree, I'm really wondering who won!

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

Let's do the math:
EASTER had 40 films (More-or-less) times twenty seconds each, equals 800 seconds, or 13.3333.....Minutes. (Including credits.)

TOY had 28 films, and even though I won't add all the times, just one of those (Marooned) was longer than all the EASTER entries by itself. (Even without the credits.)

EASTER judging still ain't been finished, TOY's was out within a month. Even assuming that the judges of TOY had no life, but the judges of EASTER have very busy ones. That's still a very long judging period for EASTER. And while we're talking about times, THAC 9 was judged within a week! (Despite having 58 entries!)

Not that I'm complaining or anything.... mini/shifty But hey, as long as I get a prize I don't care when it is. mini/tongue

I had actually forgotten about it, so thanks for the reminder!

Yeah, exactly. I hadn't forgot about this though. I mean, good grief, two months? Seriously, I'm starting to get unabashedly irritated. I have a busy life sometimes, but I could always find half an hour to watch and rate all the films entered into this. I want to see this wrap up...

Took me about 25 minutes to watch all of the videos thanks to load times and ads, so judging would take a lot longer than an half hour. And although there were just a handful of really, really good ones, rating each film's animation, closeness to theme, and whatever other stuff he does would take longer than you think. mini/wink
Not to mention getting the scores from the other judges, taking care of any ties and getting the final results together.

But I think these comments sum it all up:

Alright, I understand that mcoov is busy and all, I really do. But honestly, a nearly two-month judging period for a contest that ran for less than three weeks and produced only 20 second films is hardly justifiable, especially for a prize as simple as two minifigures and a small set.

Okay, when Pritchard Studios starts bringing in his truckload of self-philosophies, I know it's time for me to join the fight.

I don't mean to be impatient, mcoov. But, they're half right. Easter was nearly two months ago; what's the holdup? The last time contest results were held up and judging took awhile was THAC 8. I honestly just don't see why it takes judges over a month to judge (as Pritchard said) around 13 minutes worth of entries.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

Surely OP will deliver...

Yes, I realize it's been a while since even my last post, and even longer since the contest initially ended. Don't blame Hazzat or Daniamtion for any of this, they've done nothing wrong. I have a list of who's entries were accepted, but I'm still trying to figure out the situation of my inbox so as to forward the messages. This in turn has caused a backlog in my e-mail inbox, and I have nearly 100 unread messages. Which is bad. That may seem like a pretty poor problem, but it is a problem. In addition, school has prevented me from a lot of recreational internet use, which is how I classify BiM.
TL;DR: Usual gauntlet of excuses.

You have appeased me. mini/lol Thanks for the update, mcoov, glad to see you still remember about this. I, of course, don't mind waiting a little longer just as long as the results come out eventually.

School should be about done right?

I will check the PMs and emails again, but otherwise no.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

MCOOV POSTED IN THE EASTER FORUM!

.....Rats, he didn't post the results.

Anyway, is there something I can help you?
Not judging obviously, but maybe organizing the entries, or getting e-mails out?
I'd be glad to help if it meant the results would be out quicker.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

I sent you a PM, but my name is name there. Did you get my entry?

Really? I recall that I sent it to you before the deadline. It would be rather unfortunate if it's disqualified.

So we should get the results today?

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

I understand that mcoov is pretty busy, but it's already June. Has there been any progress on the judging?

Yes, my entry is there mini/delirium  Dose it matter that it's not in the e-mail list but in the PM list?

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

I don't see why it would, if it's on the list they got your entry.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2012 - [CLOSED]

I just wanted to know if that changed something.  I most likely dose not change it, it's was just a thought that I had.
