Eh, I'm really not that fond of the rounded heads with black outlines. It's taking away the minifig head look of them... When I decided to make these I wanted to have them look more like a minifig head than the old ones, seeing as this is primarily a Lego related forum.
Without meaning to sound biased, I like my last one a lot better than the other three... As Nick said, with a black outline it just looks like Bluntys with a different yellow, which is not what I'm going for. The black outline also takes away the sleekness of it, which defeats the purpose of them matching the sleekness of the new site. My goal isn't to copy Bluntys, it's to create something fresh and new.
The issue with the new emotes note being on the same level as the smilies is that in the CSS the forum smilies are aligned to the bottom of the text whereas the images are aligned to the top. I can't fix that, although it would be easy for Schlaeps to fix.
Littlebrick, I have to disagree when you say Bluntys smilies were the perfect yellow. I have yet to see a minifig head that is that bright. Same with the shape. The roundness of the smilie makes it less like a minifig head.
I'll work on some of those requests now. If I can find a compromise that looks ok I'll use it, however for now I'll be sticking with as my base.
- edit -
I've found that using the same rounded corners as Bluntys but keeping the dark yellow outline and height looks decent. I'll upload one shortly.

I liked your previous version as well but I was trying to make a compromise that wouldn't scare away the people who don't like the new ones because they're too used to the old ones. I think that last one looks the best yet, even if it is really close to the original Blunty design in shape. I think the color/shading is really the big improvement here, I never liked the greenish yellow color of the old ones. (They don't look green, what I mean by this is that they have a relatively high green value in terms of RGB values)
Yeah, the slight green in Bluntys is what gives them an unrealistic colour. I agree that looks the best so far. I refuse to use a black outline though...
Blue: It actually isn't hard at all to edit the heads in order to make your own. However, here's a template. If people use the template to make their own and post it, I'll remake it.

How 'bout :boom:
I was TRYING to make a face, but GIMP is being annoying again . Sorry.

I'll put a :boom: one on my list, fib. And MM, I'll update yours to match better
Here's the updated (and new) ones so far.
Aaron, just say what you want and I'll do it

Meh, I'll just use my good computer
I don't know anything about GIMP, I don't use it.
Here's some new ones, more on their way.
I whipped up some of my own in Paint for fun. Feel free to manipulate them to singular .png's if you like them. Credit to Tim DeWitt for the ideas.

3. Lovestruck
4. Smug
I in no way want to usurp Sean's position, however (not that I could anyway).
EDIT: I was working on mine while you posted yours, and I love the new ones. Great work, Sean!

Those look pretty cool, ManVan. I hope you don't mind if I slightly edit the colours to match with the others better?
I DID IT!!! somehow the quality got messed up from your template, to paint, to gimp, to brickshelf, to here.
can you refine these. (with the face melt, it should go from yellow, to my red, to the skull. It would look more like the movie.)

By all means! PSP doesn't do transparent png's.
I'm glad you like them.
MM, I made a face melt on that matches the others.
Also here's the updated versions of ManVans.
Sean, they don't have to look exactly like mini-figure heads; color-wise, anyway.
I must say though, you guys are really improving these emotes. You guys might make me switch over if you remake more of Blunty's old ones, fix Mr Green's face, do this guy , and come up with more great new ones. But nothing will ever beat Blunty's.
