ololol. That made my day.

Did it make your day good? mini/eh

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

I actually agree. mini/smile
Bricks in Motion sounds much better. And that's how it should stay.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

I liked the redirect idea though, if we bought brickfilms.com, brickfilm.com, etc and had them redirect here.
Because if you search Brickfilms on google it only coms up with BiM waaaaay at the bottom and it doesn't even show up at all if you search Lego movies.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

You all have it wrong. We should go back to ILoveBrickfilms.com

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Legahmurvehs.com

Lol jk xD

I don't think Ilovebrickfilms sounds nice.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

It was "ilovebrickfilming.com," but then Schlaeps changed to "brickfilmers.com" which was what caused Cynthia to send Schlaeps a cease and desist.  The thing with the term "brickfilm" was that it was always associated with brickfilms.com and didn't exist before the site, so it seemed like a reasonably legitimate trademark though theoretically Jason could get it reversed or something since he came up with it but wasn't the one to trademark it.  I think the main deal is that nobody was motivated enough to go to court over it.

That's us Brickfilmers. The most unmotivated people in the known galaxy. mini/bigsmile

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

We should basically create a monopoly on all of these names and have them redirect here.
BiM is a perfectly fine name in my opinion.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Baby steps, topit. Baby steps.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

I'll throw my log in the fire, BricksinMotion.com is a fine URL, why replace it with Brickfilms.com?

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Becaaause...
If you google 'brickfilms' or 'lego movies' it just comes up with BF.com and it doesn't link people here, therefore, the majority of people will remain really bad animators because they don't have our wise advice to go by! Do you know what my films looked like before I joined this site? You don't want to know. But that's how things will remain for many. mini/tongue

I think we should maintain this URL. Yeah, baby. Reason is if we change the URL to brickfilms.com, I guarantee thousands of n00by wannabes will be signing up for the site and ruining our community with posts like 'hey can I be a moderator' and stuff like that. Our community has already shown small cracks in it. We don't want BiM to go down the drain in the next few years, don't we?

Just giving my opinion. mini/smile

Back In Black!

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Exactly, Thunderbolt. Getting top results on Google isn't necessarily the best thing. Also, right now, Brickfilms.com sort of advertises Bricks in Motion. Tons of people changed their sigs to "The community has moved to Bricks in Motion" or something along those lines. The people who are actually serious about brickfilming and participating in the community browse the forums, get redirected here, and join. A lot of spambots and perhaps trolls don't. I'm happy with how the community is standing at the moment, and I don't know if this type of change would be for the better or for the worse.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Bricks in Motion is 100x better in design, simplicity and has a very well organized Moderation Team.  If Brickfilms.com does come back.  I'm staying with BiM because it has a brilliant site design and is 1000x faster thank BF.com

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

I agree. Brickfilms.com was very hard to get around and VERY slow. It seemed so big and blocky and unorganized.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

http://new.brickfilms.com/community/ (Current progress of Aled's plan to change brickfilms.com back to its good look again)

The pre-new-management-redesign brickfilms.com was fantastic. I loved it so much. Much better than BricksInMotion's current design, which is a masterpiece compared to Brickfilms' current look, though.

And I prefer brickfilms.com to bricksinmotion.com.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Uh, I remember when I was looking through brickfilms.com long time ago. I loved it, and I feel quite nostalgic looking at that link. I prefer brickfilm's design to BiM's current one, but I can't tell wich site I prefer, since I never signed up in Brickfilms.com.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Me neither. I used to lurk in the forums and directory a lot, and Just Kidden would come over to my house sometimes, and we would animate together. But I never really made a BF.com.

Re: Reviving Brickfilms.com

Am I the only one who prefers the look of this site..?

Sure I was only a brickfilms.com lurker but still...
