The themes are pretty ridiculous.
One of the themes is suspense... in a horror contest.
Can't say I disagree, what's wrong with 'supernatural', though?
Anyway, having both makes it kind of redundant since now everyone can just make whatever they want to so long as it's horror. Oh well, decision's been made, I guess.

. I like to think of the birds as a comedy .
How is the birds... a comedy? It's a horror film.

I have to agree that suspense is not a very good theme, Supernatural is good however, I have a feeling that there will be a big tilt in category entries.
.... Yes it is? So Shark Night is scary? Insidious is scary? And 'The Birds' isn't...?
it's just his opinion, okay? jeez.. can we please get back on topic?

It's not a very scary horror film . Anyways guys I am entering this contest .
So if its not scary it makes it a comedy?

Guys, please check out my thread in the production section. The thread has 100+ links to horror/suspense movie soundtracks and films themselves. I hope it'll help bring some good FOS 2 entries.

Damn, that is a really good name!
^Detected Sarcasm.
I'd say a key to horror is to have good lighting, and the right pitch of music.
Lighting isn't exactly as effective as you think. Yeah to classic horror directors it is, and to Dario Argento it's extremely important, but some terrifying films take place during the day, with no special lighting, and scare the !@#$ out of me, main example: Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Also, music is highly important though. Alfred Hitchcock said around 33% of the effect of Psycho came from Benard Herrmann's soundtrack for the film.
Marion's Car Ride
Shower Scene
Mrs. Bates
Those are some examples from the Psycho soundtrack.
Also look how effective the songs work with the scenes:
Arbogast
Marion
Car Ride
and if you never plan on watching this movie... here's the ending scene:
Mrs. Bates kills Lila
She Wouldn't Even Hurt a Fly

Detected..Not sarcasm.
I don't know if I'll be entering this contest. Horror is not really my genre.
Does it have to be entirely scary, or can it also be a comedy? I'm currently working on a horror-comedy film, and since it meets the afore-mentioned rules (for the theme, I wouldn't call it suspensful, but it does have a lot of monsters), I was thinking that I could enter it in.

Since it is a horror contest, Onion said you could do comedy-horror but he wanted you to focus at the horror. I think he said that.

Urk, another horror brickfilming contest? I'm sorry, but I can't take a horror film seriously if the actors are smiley yellow Lego people. Why can't we just have a Halloween themed contest instead of a Halloween horror contest? I honestly dislike it when people attempt to scare of even entertain the viewer if the film has a serious tone with LEGO FIGURES. (there are SOME exceptions, like what Smeagol or Nick Durron make)
