Re: I Am The Night

Thanks everyone for the generally positive feedback on this idea. mini/smile I'm glad some people like it. Since there seems to be some dislike of Batty's torso being Nightwing and it doesn't quite match, I've changed it to the 2008 LEGO Batman torso, but with black arms. It looks a lot better actually.
And here's a picture of the Joker's henchmen:
http://universe.lego.com/en-us/community/creationlab/GetMedia.aspx?id=6b79370b-e1fd-4376-9524-7d6273238fe6
The jester henchman, and the mime henchman rather comically wielding a silenced pistol. xD

Anyway, now that I've had all of this feedback on characters, I'd really like to know what stuff you'd like to see in this movie. Like what kind of action sequences should there be? What would make it cooler? What type of stuff would make this really amazing, stylish and over-the-top?
That kind of stuff would really help. mini/smile Thanks.

Re: I Am The Night

A Batmobile car chase scene would be excellent. I've always wanted more car chases in brickfilms.

Re: I Am The Night

Yeah, I plan to do a car chase. mini/smile I have a lot of ideas of how to accomplish it. One thing I have planned is to have the camera moving along in a dolly shot following the cars through Gotham. Usually, you'll have a problem here because you won't have enough bricks to build that many buildings. But I'm going to fix that by taking apart the buildings when they exit the shot and rebuild them differently and place them in before they come into the camera's view. Giving the illusion that I have unlimited bricks and they're actually zooming through a giant city with a non-repetitive background. mini/smile

A car chase.....Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Btw this is gonna be an epic movie mini/smile

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: I Am The Night

Pretty good idea! I do think that The Riddler looks a little similar to The Joker, so maybe you could modify him? I can't wait for this.

BEAT THAT, FORRESTFIRE!!!!

Back In Black!

Much better, isn't it? mini/smile

Re: I Am The Night

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! mini/jaw That's very good! AWESOME! How'd you do it?

Re: I Am The Night

First of all, I'd like to say I used absolutely no photo shop in this. Batty's head is Scarecrow's glow-in-the-dark head from the Arkham set turned around so you can't see the face print. The weird lighting was made with an 8x8 black grate piece over an 8x8 transparent orange plate from a set based off of the lava planet dual from Star Wars Episode three, under that I have a torch/flashlight shining a light through it.
Turned out pretty nicely. mini/smile I'll probably use this type of lighting some in the actual movie, probably in the Bat-Cave.

Re: I Am The Night

Good idea.

Re: I Am The Night

Looks very nice! I like how you did the Mr Freeze and Batman himself!

I would change the Joker, though. The hair and jacket don't really suit him in my opinion.

Opinion out-of-date.

I actually like the over-the-top look (as Jargon put it), too.

Re: I Am The Night

I like the sound of this. Car chases, originality, some good voice acting, set building, this looks very good. I like the lighting, but I think I would make it a little bit more less orangey, if you see what I mean. But it's still really cool.
I'm looking forward to this. What frame rate are you using?

Oh, and a gunfight with the police would be good in my opinion.

Re: I Am The Night

I'm glad you are, thanks. mini/smile
I plan to do this at 15 FPS.

Oh, yes! I am actually planning a gun fight with the cops. mini/smile Probably with Scarecrow and Scarface.

Re: I Am The Night

I also think it would be cool if Batman jumped off a building and fly/swoop into an enemy guard.

Re: I Am The Night

Can't you just have a normal Batman?

Unless you're going for an Azrael interpretation in which case you nailed it.

Re: I Am The Night

"Azreal?"

The reason I didn't go for the normal figures is because I made the mistake of never getting a LEGO Joker. Which is sad since he's my favorite villain ever. So I got the idea to make him loosely using other pieces to make a creepy representation. I thought it would be cool to make a movie with him, but, as you can see from his looks, he doesn't exactly fit with the regular Batman. So I made some other over-the-top remakes to make it reasonably consistent. Also, it's very important to me that this stands out from every other Batman Brickfilm.

I got past this by taking off most of a skeletons face, painting some hair green and finding a similar torso... then the rest was CG

Re: I Am The Night

Dude these Characters look BEAST, truthfully Mr. freeze looks the best. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!       mini/XD

Re: I Am The Night

Cool, thanks. mini/smile

Update guys.
I've mostly built Wayne Manor, first set. The mental script is coming along really nicely, this is going to be insane. mini/dizzy
I'll put off filming for a while because my brother's going to get a new camera for this! mini/bigsmile Better quality!
Also, Stan the Lego Man will play a small role, as well as do some visual effects for the gunshots.
