It's called having a life

Such a common excuse from people who don't finish things. Wouldn't a whole 10 months to work with mean you could be more accommodating to things that get in the way in life? As opposed to what some people are doing now, pulling all nighters and living in their basements to make an entry in the span of a week or two. That doesn't seem as much like having a life as working a little more slowly during one's free time to finish an entry over a period of 10 months. Enjoying a hobby and being able to finish ambitious projects with plenty of time provided doesn't mean you can't "have a life," so this is sort remark is insulting.
Both in this contest and in MoB, though, the long amount of time seemed to be a disadvantage because people thought up overly-ambitious concepts and couldn't finish, lost interest over the 10 months, or simply forgot about it. That's understandable, I fell prey to it in MoB myself, though it's hard to rationalize on paper. I don't think we'll announce the next contest as early.
