Are we allowed to use music that we have bought legally?
By buying it, you have paid for the file and to be able to listen to it whenever. You haven't paid for anyone to make money out of it, so no.

So would I be allowed to use it? He says if you give him credit you can use it for noncommercial stuff.
It'd be preferable that you not -- the whole idea is to avoid stuff you don't have full rights to use and/or ownership of.
I'm not sure if this would be considered commercial, because of the potential for prizes.

What if you used music from bricktrick or music by Kevin MacLeod? Can these songs be used, even if you give credit to who wrote the music? 
I believe Macleod's stuff is fair game as long as you credit him. No idea what bricktrick is.
Bricktrick.de is Mario's site! It has quite a few very well composed scores. Is it okay to get music from him too?

That's good! We were worried for a moment there, for we were planning on using some of his music in our entry!
My entry has failed due to the fact that my set leaked.
Leaked??? As in, your LEGOs were holding a fluid??? This we've got to see...
