Edward Scissorhands
It was my first time watching it and I was blown away. It was such a remarkable and touching film. The relationship,
so strange, touched my heart. The ending was great and put a tear in my eye, Tim Burton created a remarkable film.
A Serious Man
I PAID FOR THE MOVIE I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN THE END
THE ENDING IS MISSING!
-Jimmybob
NO! You're missing the entire point.
probably I watched in the wrong mind. I was paying attention to the story
please explain
-Jimmybob
Not sure how to put it simply. I think it's a story about events beyond human control, and trying to resolve the story in any way would go against the whole feel of the film.
Besides, I get kind of annoyed when people evaluate a film based on their expectations instead of whether or not it actually works.
2012
That was one funny movie.
A Serious Man
...hmm...I'm still not quite sure what to make of it. Like, I it's a well-made movie and I understand what they were going for, and it did have its laughs, but I dunno, it just sorta comes off as a tad pointless to me in the end.
I get that the film is about the uncertainty of life and religious ambiguity, which is a very accessible theme and I think the Coens pulled it off quite well, but I just can't help but think what's the point of this movie? It's basically about this man who's life inexplicably takes a turn for the worse and becomes a collective montage of one bad thing after another happening to him. I know the Coens are big on leaving their films unresolved in a way, and I thought that worked beautifully in No Country for Old Men, but this, it's just one bad thing after another that leads to pretty much nothing (at least in No Country, the main "plot" gets resolved which provided leeway to the film's meditation on morality and fate). And like I said, I understand that's the point of the film, but that leads me to ask why would you want to make that into a movie in the first place?
Thanks. I had the same feelings after watching the movie. It was over and I was like: okay?!? A modern story of hiob, nice...
I thought the problem was that my world has absolutely nothing to do with the world the coen brothers try to describe. I just can't think like a religious person. The behavior of the main character made abolutely no sense to me. He made me angry with being such an idiot. I suffered. I wanted to scream into his face. And it got worse and worse. It was terrible to see him falling down. And then it was over. And I was paralysed for a few minutes.
So on the one hand the movie moved me and it was an experience I don't want to miss, but on the other hand there was this feeling of disappointment or frustration (and I can't say where it came from...)
Well, I don't think it was a matter of Larry doing anything wrong (if anything, he was the only decent person in this movie). It's just a matter of bad things happening to a good person for seemingly no reason.

Alice in Wonderland
Watched two Tim Burton films this week. The film was fantastic, I loved it. My favorite character was the
Cheshire Cat.
Johnny Depp really stole the show from Mia, but overall the film was great.
Remember the Titans
amazing. Purely awesome.
Prime-cut
I just love those on the edge of seat crime thrillers. Oh, and boobs.

The Fugitive
One of the best remakes of a movie/tvshow I've ever seen. These are how remakes are supposed to be made. I loved the acting by Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. TLJ did get Best Supporting Actor for this and I'm glad, he had a lot of oscar potential in this one. I also loved how a lot of the things in this seemed a bit add-libbed by the actors and director. The story was good, but the editing is something I didn't really agree with 100%.

The Iron Giant
This film was definitely worth staying up until 4:20 in the morning to watch.
I saw Alice in Wonderland earlier tonight, and damn, it was so bad. It felt like they sat down and thought 'hey, everyone loved Johnny Depp in Pirates and Chocolate Factory, we should make a movie which we can have him in some crazy role!
I wanted to The Men Who Stare at Goats, but, only one of my friends wanted to see it as well, but it doesn't seem possible to stop girls from seeing Johnny Depp when they want to "oh he's so funny, he's so sexy blah blah blah"
Men who stare at goats isn't brilliant, it had all it needed to be a great movie, but in the hands of a first time director it wasn't great.
Still, better than Alice in Wonderland.
Shutter Island
I think in the future people will talk about this one like they do the Sixth Sense.
