Topic: CGI Compound

WATCH IN AWE.

No, it's not really quite that great. Any feedback is extremely welcome, and *wince* after I made the video it reminded me a lot of Leo's CGI street composite. Sorry about that.

Re: CGI Compound

I didn't like the background. The trees didn't look good because of the size.
The digital face was excellent.

Re: CGI Compound

Size isn't the problem.  The material of the tree is unrealistic, it's too shiny.  You'll need to adjust that.

Re: CGI Compound

Face animation was the best part of this test.

Re: CGI Compound

Yes, that seems to be the general idea: the face is good, the background could use a lot of different shading and texturing.

Re: CGI Compound

How do you apply faces in Blender, then animate them?

Re: CGI Compound

Hate to bring this thread up to the top again, but I've been away from the internet for a while, so I'll answer it now: I imported a face from LDraw (along with the head) and deleted the head in Blender, so just the face was left. Then, I lined up the face to where I think it might be in the video, and did this with View>>Background Image (and applied the image in the world panel as a texture). Then I added an armature and parented it to the face. I switched to pose mode with the armature selected, and for every frame I lined up the face and hit I>>LocWhatever. Then I hit the right arrow key to go to the next frame, then animated the finished result.
