As long as it's based on a past event, I guess.

Alternate reality, slight deviations into fantasy, etc. are okay. It is a bit disappointing to me that when a "history" theme is announced almost everybody here jumps to "How can I make this into a sci-fi/fantasy film despite the theme?" Steampunk is not historical. Time travel is not something that has happened, historically. Having mummies in your film doesn't make it historical. How the well theme is utilized in entries is something that will be considered in the judging process, and a film in a generic medieval castle setting, or a movie set in the 1990s where the time period has no clear relevance is not likely to fair well.
There's a good 5,300 years of recorded history to draw from here, I think it might be more compelling to draw from real history for film ideas than to venture off into world-building science fiction or fantasy.
My idea contains Knights. But it has nothing to do with fantasy. Just a couple of simple knights.
My idea contains Knights
I think to do the same, but with a little fantacy

I was originally going to do that, but then I thought everyone would do it.
I have scraped my time machine idea I need to stock up on some LEGO for this contest
Hey, are we allowed to mention trademark LEGO sets, such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter etc...? I'm not making a film about them, just mentioning one of them.
yes you can.

No, I think. They're copyrighted characters of LEGO, and that's not allowed.

I third it.
I may actually do this.
I was thinking at the beggining, I would have like, the directer say a couple of words (the directer is in LEGO), and then do the actual film, would that be alright?

So, could I (potentially) use them?
