Yeah, that's usually the case for me, though sometimes it takes up to a day for the ads to appear.  If it takes any longer than that, it probably means they're suspicious about the video, and are about to email you demanding for proof that you have the rights to the content in the film.  This happened to me when I submitted 30 Years: The Story of the Minifigure.  I just had to provide signed letters from my contact at LEGO, from Nikolas, who wrote the music, and from my sister, who painted the backgrounds.  Eventually everything worked out and the video got ads.

Dude?!
Is YouTube really THAT anal nowadays when it comes to the partner program?

Well, actually, to be fair, they had every right to jump on my video because it had the Go Miniman Go logos slapped all over it.  The Go Miniman Go logo was created by The LEGO Company and provided to me for use in the video, but YouTube didn't know that.  I included the letters from Nikolas and my sister just to cover my bases.  I don't have any complaints about YouTube's policies, and if they saw fit to remove one of my videos that contained copyrighted content (Flashbacks: Redux or Unsound, for instance) I would accept it gracefully.  In fact, I am in the process of reediting my films that break copyright and replacing the copyrighted material with original material or properly licensed material.

I have no complaints about a company that enforces copyright laws.

Re: YouTube

Excellent. My first ad has appeared on Bowling for Sandercoe and it's for "gay-parship", a dating service for a special kind of young lady or gentleman.

Re: YouTube

Congrats to all the new partners.  Brickfilming is getting more popular every second.  In any case, I try to click on all the ads on Brickfilming partners' videos.  Support the cause! mini/smile  And as a matter of interest, my ad on Sandercoe was for some strange manga deal.

And if anyone's interested, I compiled a list of all (I think) the YouTube Partners who Brickfilm.  Some of them I didn't know existed until I searched for them, and frankly, some of them suck.

^ I found another brickfilm partner.

His film Here looks like a blatant copy of Rsteenoven's free running film IMO.

Re: YouTube

This is another brickfilm partner. Notice how many of them use Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman for views.

Re: YouTube

Yeah all the top videos are batman or indiana jones related.

Re: YouTube

That reminds me. Remember Littlebrick thought up a contest where you could only make Batman, Star Wars or Indy brickfilms and the one that got to 500,000 views first was the winner? I want to see that come into existence.

Re: YouTube

It's annoying that quality brickfilms with brilliant cinematography, story, and animation have less recognition than badly made brickfilm with no original characters and unwatchable animation.

Gareth hasn't even seen Rsteeoven's film as far as I'm concerned.

Re: YouTube

LEAP would benefit from having a higher frame rate. I don't think it's a copy though, it's just a film about the same sport.

I know, that's what I told him over at CABG.

Re: YouTube

What happens when you mix Nick Durron's Capastroid and Jay Silver's The Gauntlet?

Re: YouTube

Aaron, if you don't have over 600 subscribers and views over several thousand views each, then there's a low chance of you actually getting it.

My opinion on forrestfire101:

He is a smart guy.  He gives his audience what they want, and he makes money off of that.  Maybe he doesn't deserve it in some people's opinions, but he is taking advantage of what he has and is benefiting from that.
