They won yes, but the way they play is awful.

Yeah, the Dutch defense isn't doing too great, and we only got some nice good chances after Robben came in. When he came in about 20 minutes before the end of the match, nobody from Cameroon even seemed to try covering him or staying near his general vicinity. Not sure whether that says more about Cameroon or Robben though.
Hahahaha
And you also called England the UK which leads me to believe you don't really understand to much about football or geography.
If you're going to accuse people of mixing up the UK and England, at least make sure they actually did it. haha, why does it bother you so much? No other poms on the site seem to care about it, and amazingly, the americans don't really seem to care that you constantly stereotype and judge them with little knowledge.
Also, the US did not win their group. They tied with England. Both had two ties and one win. Both teams only won by a point in their winning games.
USA did win the group. They are 1st, therefore they are the winners. They scored more goals in the group stage than england so yeah.

Wow, Spain's first goal was absolutely hilarious!
I find the whole World Cup fad just down right ridiculous, I hope England loose the next match against Germany so then we're not wasting any more money on pointless crap that's been sugar coated by men in shorts who kick a ball who have thousands of Pounds thrown at them, on a field that's had something trillion Pounds thrown at it as well. I can only see football as a game, it's alright as a sport, but the way it's being treated today... Just, no.

I totally agree with you storgero. I just don't see why billions and billions of dollars are spent on this pointless football stuff (our soccer).
It's like any other business. They make money from providing entertainment. It no more ridicules then spending millions to make a block buster film.

Well, yes that is true, but football isn't interesting at all. People kick around a ball and try to score with it. If you've seen it once, you seen it all. A block buster film (if good) makes you have fun watching the movie and leave inspired.

Did you see USA vs Algeria? I'm not American and have been getting some slack for cheering for the US, but my, that was one exciting game! Very inspiring.
On the flip side, Spain and Chile stopped playing with ten minutes left in their game, not so inspiring.

Sorry, I forgot to add that sometimes it is more fun if there is a spectacular play or just an awesome game in general. But it's usually not that way.

Are you saying that the 1986 World Cup quarter final was not interesting? I was not alive then but i can imagine that was an intense game. It was England vs Argentina, remember this was only 4 years after the Falklands war so there was a lot national pride involved. Diego Maradona scores a goal with his hand and the ref lets him get away with it. You can imagine the drama caused by that. 0ldscratch has even made a brickfilm about it.
Then there was 2006s final, Italy vs France. The Italian player Marco Materazzi insults Frances Zinedine Zidane so Zidane nuts Materazzi so hard he falls over. The game then went into Penalty shootout with the game 1-1. And because Zidane got sent off France had no chance winning in penalties. Italy finally won 5-3.
These are exciting matches, no match is the same. And it is more than just kicking balls in nets.
Uhm, Tdogg, Italy-France wasn't exciting at all...it was a boring match, they did nothing for 90 minutes, and went into penalty.

When Zidane nutted Materazzi it got interesting.
Yes, the only interesting thing that happened in the match.
Btw, Uruguay - South Korea 2 - 1

You present this argument as if it is a fact. It is not.
Sorry, but you could probably figure that it's an opinion because I'm saying that and others don't agree with me.
And TDogg, you didn't even bother reading my post a bit after that. I corrected myself in that football is sometimes better when there is something exciting going on like an amazing play. You just wanted to bash me for something with no reason behind it at all.
I use to find football boring but this world cup has changed my point of view it is very exciting btw GO USA!!!!!
