How big is the project file?
Depending on the size I'd render it for you, as I have nothing else to render at the moment mini/tongue

Would you really? If you could that would be just fantastic! Gosh I wish I could send all of the things I want rendered, but if your up for it, I can send you the immediate thing I want rendered. The file is 5.7 MB and is rendered at I think 2000 samples or something. If your up for it, we can PM.

Re: The CGI Thread

Looks like sheering. Basically occurs when two faces occupy the same 3D space and the computer can't figure out which one should be in front (and therefore rendered).

I suspect you have two models in the same space.

If you haven't solved the problem yet:
click on the model, switch into edit mode and then remove doubles (option available on the left panel. Click on the little "+" in the upper left corner if it's not there). Should work mini/wink

Re: The CGI Thread

Would anyone awesomesauce CGI people be able to do some brick-built/CGed titles for the BFCU? Only a few seconds would be necessary, both for the actual BFCU logo and for the BFCU Interactive Adventure, but would anyone be able to help me here? I don't have the facility to do so myself, but would still like to see the titles done properly. If nobody's interested then I'm sure I can figure something out, but if you are interested then please PM me or reply to this post.

Re: The CGI Thread

I would love to do that for you, but unfortunately, my experience with CGI is still sort of in the dumps. I know there are other, way more experienced people here who could make it totally awesome.

Sure man. I can do it for you. Send me an idea of what you want it to look like.

Re: The CGI Thread

Well now here's a thing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB6q25mEAwI

Took the best part of a week to render. Towards the end, it was taking 20 minutes per frame.

No plans to recreate Cloud Cuckoo Land in Blender just yet.

The Slave 1 for my upcoming video. Does it look ok?

Re: The CGI Thread

Well, I can't really see it in this frame you've chosen. Maybe show us a few frames ahead - I presume it's moving toward camera?

Re: The CGI Thread

Too many random stars.
They're all roughly the same size and color, and just make the background way yonder too busy and distracting.
That being said, we still can't see Slave 1 very well, but from here it looks like a fairly basic render texture and lighting wise.

Re: The CGI Thread

Ok. Thanks.:)

Re: The CGI Thread

Does anyone know where I can find a leocad download for the Venator Republic Star Destroyer?

Re: The CGI Thread

Ok. So how do I make my Lego look like real Lego? Do I need to use cycles?

Re: The CGI Thread

Cycles helps. You also need to fix up the individual bricks to give them bevelled edges, find or create a good plastic material that looks like lego, put together some decent lighting, etc, etc. It's not easy.

Re: The CGI Thread

Ok, I'll try that. Thanks mini/smile
