How's this?

Re: The CGI Thread

If that's a final render, then the materials need to bee more polished. Seeing as it's the center of a large city, the buildings should be a metallic-like reflective material, along with glass for the windows. The cars also look like basic rectangles to me, if you could define and shape them definitively then it would make a much more unique shot. Lastly, the lighting on the buildings is too soft; going with what I mentioned earlier, the light on the buildings should be harder and more direct. I suggest adding additional lamps with the sun light that it seems you have already used.

Hopefully you can improve on these things and become a better artist mini/smile

Juggernaut, I'm right there with you. mini/yes

Furthermore I think you should add some depth of field, maybe some more buildings in the background and is it possible that you've only created the front of the two towers? Even if you didn't, in my opinion the right one looks way too skinny mini/shifty

I know, I still need to work on the materials, but I've decided to do that once my current project is finished and I use Maya. mini/wink
Nevertheless I really do like how this turned out and hopefully so do you mini/bigsmile

Re: The CGI Thread

I like your scene Speck. Obviously the materials steel need some touching up, but it's still pretty solid as is. Also, nice work on the gunships, it must have taken forever to model (Also, Low Altitude Assault Transport gunships are my personal favorite star ship in Star Wars).

Re: The CGI Thread

Hey is it just me or is Blender 2.49 better at rendering Lego. I just got it because that's what JamesW uses and now my CG Lego looks more realistic.

Re: The CGI Thread

@Galactic Films
You should just use always the latest version. I believe the latest version right now is Bender 2.70

Re: The CGI Thread

When I bevel the bricks in 2.70 they look weird and messed up but in 2.49 they look great.

Does anyone have a good clear plastic material for Blender Internal? I'm really struggling here.

Re: The CGI Thread

So, is everyone going to have cloud roads instead of on the ground in every futuristic movie?

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: The CGI Thread

Just a couple of tests.

Re: The CGI Thread

Those are great, Megagill! I especially like the Superman frame.

Re: The CGI Thread

I'm curious...what did you use for the "glow" in the first frame?

That last picture, especially, looks really nice. mini/bigsmile

Re: The CGI Thread

I think lego cgi would be good if your going to destroy a huge city in lego..

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN COMING IN 2014 FULL FETURE FLIM.

Re: The CGI Thread

Yeah, but a huge city would be harsh to build and animate, even in a computer. It's possible, as long as your computer can handle it. I've tried in the past and the computer I was using almost crashed, and I had only built half of one building.

Re: The CGI Thread

Hence, build a render farm or use a render farm service.
