Re: Brickfilm Wiki
No offense, but why don't you go and edit it yourself? I seem to be doing a lot of the editing.
We are a friendly filmmaking community devoted to the art of stop-motion animation using LEGO® and similar construction toys. Here, you can share your work, join our community of other brickfilmers, and participate in periodic animation contests!
A place to discuss, share, and create stop motion films.

I was on mobile when I posted that.
So? I can edit posts when on mobile (like I am now).
EDIT: Like this.

You guys are going way off topic.

Sorry to continue the off-topic-e-ness but I think troodon was talking about editing the wiki when using a mobile BTW you can just click 'full site' at the bottom of any page.
Oh and getting back on topic as MW said the wiki needs some more contributions from more people, just a sentence or to from lots of people adds up. As a famous British supermarket once said: every little helps! (Sorry to sound slightly naggish )
Nevermind.

Well, I've added a wordmark and a favicon, and I changed the colors to make it less "default."

The logo/word mark looks really good MW!
Nice, although perhaps the colours should more reflect the BiM scheme or something. I'm not really sure about the current one.
Also, let me know if you want infoboxes. I can throw together some basic ones.
So what's the plan with the wiki? Will there just be pages for movies, or will there be additional ones about Brickfilmers, the characters, locations etc? I think the latter would be cool, if someone could actually put the time into it.
I think one thing we need to work on, of this can be change, is the title. I have said it before, and I'll say it again. Wookieepedia has a really catchy title to represent the Star Wars wiki. Brickfilming wiki - not so.
It would sound really cool if we could take something unique to brickfilming in general, and add it to wiki or pedia, or something similar, in a way that wookieepedia has done.
EDIT: Some of you may notice I am working on a a community tab for the main page. The idea is to have no text under the headings, just a hyperlinked picture of the BiM and brickfilms.com logos heading to their respective sites. If anyone knows how to do this, could you help me out with this?
Also, an issue in doing this has made the featured page not be shown as a heading. I think this will be fixed after we have something under the community heading.
I'll reassess these issues tomorrow morning when I'm not tired, but if any of you actually know how to fix these, be my guest.
Also, I have a few ideas to write about for a community page, so I'll start that collaborative page tomorrow.
Another idea, I think all brickfilmers in the community should be invited to create their own page for the wiki, where they can showcase all their work, and tell us their history, etc. with brickfilming.
And one last thing, I know that a well respected brickfilmer, Michael Hicox isn't part of the BiM community. Someone should make a page for his work.
Well that's it from me, I'm off to bed.

I don't think we should have a page for every member of the community. And I don't think that we shold write our pages.
And about the title, maybe it's better to add more content before thinking about the name.
The problem with creating pages for every member of the community is that they are open to being very bias and unhelpful to the average user, for example I could say I'm the most popular brickfilmer in the world and nobody would probably notice for a long time, misinforming people. Maybe the admins / coding people here on BiM could consider adding more functionality to the profile pages here such as a 'about me' box where we can ramble on about our history and stuff
Or you could do pages only for the biggest, most important and/or influential brickfilmers.
Smeagol, since he runs BiM. Fancypants, since he inspired a ton of others to begin brickfilming. Leftfield for having the longest (Confirmed) brickfilm. And then one for the guy that made The Magic Portal....For making The Magic Portal.
Forrestfire101 for being the most popular brickfilmer ever, and for getting a lot of others into the hobby. (Albeit controversially. And although I dislike the guy's films, he does deserve a page.)
I'm not too familiar with all the greats of the "Brickfilms.com days" so maybe a few of them would qualify as well.
The only hard part would be choosing who gets a page, and who doesn't.

Exactly. I say we shouldn't have pages for specific brickfilmers, but maybe a page with a list of a few of the great brickfilmers, like the ones you mentioned.
In other news, I added a slider to the home page, and updated the Bionicle and Ben 10 sections of the LEGO Group and Brickfilming page. I had forgotten how cool those Ben 10 animations really were!
I'm all for having pages on the rather famous / best brickfilmers, but the problem is that if people start making their own pages then it will turn into a demented sort of social network (I think I already said that...)
But like even more recent brickfilmers like ANP would deserve a page on the site imo
One thing I did figure out, is by editing a wiki, you automatically get your own profile page (if you are logged in) on that wiki. You get to edit your page, and tell people a bit about yourself. Kind of like Facebook, you have your profile page no one ever goes out of their way to look at, then you have the news feed and the search button, etc. with all the important information everyone wants to see.
Um, guys, have you ever heard of user pages? One gets created for you automatically when you start editing a wiki. Here's an example (one of mine from a while ago).
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/User:Ihu
If we set the wiki up so that instead of just being randok on you user page, you actually put a series of sections full of useful, cohesive information, then that would work better than having separate pages for each user, and nobody would get left out.
If you don't understand, just say, because I'm terrible at explaining things.
