Topic: Quickcam 9000 and widescreen test - HELP! YOUTUBE MADE IT BLURRY!

This was the first time I uploaded an avi file to youtube (the rest had been windows movie maker files) but I guessed it would work. I animated the test with my new quickcam 9000 at 640x480 in monkeyjam and then used virtual dub to crop it to 16:9 so it would play fullscreen on youtube. I then uploaded it (it took over an hour to upload as it always does) and looked at it. The picture was really blurry and I can't understand why! Has anybody else had this problem? What do you suggest? This is the first time youtube has let me down. Ironically, it was the day youtube was going through "improvements". Should I convert it to another format like quicktime and then upload it? I'd be grateful if someone could help me with this as it is causing me a lot of grief and stress. Here's a link to the test:

PLEASE HELP!:(

It looks a lot better when you add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL.

Firstly, its not going to be great quality if you are exporting in 640x480.

Second, nathan doesn't use a quickcam pro 9000.

Re: Quickcam 9000 and widescreen test - HELP! YOUTUBE MADE IT BLURRY!

I'm really confused why youtube's done this so i'm just going to re-upload the video again and if it comes out the same...then it sucks to be me and i'll probably go off brickfilming for a while during which I will bash my head constantly with a rubber mallet for the next year and a half

Just add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL and everything will be OK. OK?

I know, I deleted the youtube video just before I saw your post...I need to wait while it uploads again...:( typical. But hang on, this means no-one else aprt from me will see the video in better quality...Can you customise the url and add &fmt=18 at the end or do you have to type it in every time?
