Wow. There really going to let a newbie in who like to p**s everyone off by bumping old threads with ' LOL mini/bigsmile '

No offence, but think.

On topic, I think this is a great idea, and gives more attention to the actual purpose of the website.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Haha, the community section was the only reason I really stayed on BiM for as long as I have, as I'm quite sure I won't ever make another brickfilm again. I can't say I hate the change, I really should have left this site a long time ago but I just didn't have the motivation (or the heart mini/tongue ) to leave. I might pop in to visit again if I do actually feel like making any animations again, but I feel that if I do make any animations they most likely won't be in Lego.

Buhbai everyone!

Re: Community Forum Changes

Bai BG, hope you still pop in every once and a while. Are you still making a TOY film?

Re: Community Forum Changes

It seems like a lot of people don't want to experiment with brickfilms and actually get better. We see the same stuff being released with no creativity whatsoever. One of the newer films I've actually enjoyed was the X:arena// or something that Brickyman made (if you are reading this Brickyman, know that I enjoy your posts far less). The handmade effects were interesting to watch, so instead of being bored to death by a brickfilm that poorly delivers a joke about something I don't find funny, I got to see someone take the medium and make something kind of cool with it.

Point is, I encourage you all to use the brickfilming forums to your advantage. As interesting as your minor light flicker problems are, I'm sure there are more interesting things to discuss. We have a wealth of creative individuals at your disposal, so don't be afraid to start up discussion about cool techniques and creative approaches to brickfilming.

Anyway, it's 2 AM so I don't feel like writing more.

Re: Community Forum Changes

I must he honest, I'm quite frightened in going into that community forum and having laugh every once and a while, cause I might get thrown out.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Well it's good to see you didn't miss the wrought-iron sign reading "Abandon all fun, ye who enter here" in gothic script at the top of the Community forum. It's a new addition, but I think it captures the staff's hatred of frivolity quite well.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Chill out mate. I'm just saying. I've seen some moderators being quite tight recently.

Re: Community Forum Changes

It's sad that it had to come to this. I agree with Ratboy though, it is going to be hard deciding who's in and who's out.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Dear mods / staff, while you are on a roll, could you please consider the possibility of moving the (sticky) "Animation Challenge" thread from the community forum (General Film Discussion) to the  "contests / festivals" forum? I've always had the feeling that this thread was kind of out of place in the community forum. And I think this Challenge is a valuable showcase of what the site and it's members have to offer. Logically, it seems to fit better in the Contests and festivals forum (it is a mini contest after all), and it does involve actual brickfilming...

Just my two cents...

Re: Community Forum Changes

It's in the General Film discussion, unless I'm mistaken.

I agree, that would probably be better. mini/smile

Though, it's not really important where it is.

Re: Community Forum Changes

I think this was a good move. We have been getting a lot of threads in the Community forum that have nothing to do with filmmaking.

Isn't that the whole point of the community forum?

Re: Community Forum Changes

Correct, but it's not the point of this website. This website is centered around Brickfilming/filmmaking, not merely idle chit chat.

Exactly what I meant. And besides everyone, what's the big deal? It's also more possible to get more ''riots'' just talking whatever.(no offense)

Re: Community Forum Changes

I just realized something, where should new people introduce themselves?
EDIT: I just found it.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Smeagol,
You realize that removing the troll central will increase trolling in the rest of the site?
I'll miss it, but I'll live without it.

Re: Community Forum Changes

huh. That proposes a problem.
Another thing is that by doing this we're all going to become anti-social freaks, the stereotypical brickfilmer. mini/tongue
Also, whenever I have a minor question about something brickfilmy, like how to prevent light flicker or how to do something in GIMP, I ask it in the Cafe Corner, so not to spam other forums with topics that have been made a million hundred times. Now with the closing of that, semi-n00bs like me who don't have access will be creating a wealth of useless topics-although I am going to try to keep it way down by searching the previous things.
But don't you think that's a problem? mini/dizzy
