Yep, basically what pritchard said. I don't do this in advance but during animation so i can keep track of which figs i already moved for that shot. Line is movement, dot is no movement. Line-dot-line-dot-line-dot etc is a 12 fps walk cycle in a 24 fps shot. Line-line-line-line etc is true 24 fps movement. Dot-dot-dot-dot etc well, just a minifig doing absolutely nothing at all.
Ya dig?

Bumpedybump...
Small update on the progress.
OK, I took a break from brick filming for couple of weeks in order to pursue some other ventures, but I'm back on track now. I've built the last set that I need, and now I only need to film about 6 shots. So the end is in sight, well, at least as far as the actual filming is concerned. Lots of work to be done after that...
awesome!
Bumper...
Just to let you guys know that this is still alive...
Alas, time is scarce...
All footage has been shot, have done a lot of postproduction this weekend (which means GIMP).
Have three shots left where I need to do GIMPing.
Then:
- last minute rerecording of some lines...
- edit the whole shebang together in a first draft.
- send it to the guy who's gonna score it for me.
... and then it should be done...
Just a small image to look at:
I haven't really been paying attenton to this before, but when I look at this I am totally amazed.
This is going to be awesome, and I'm looking forward to it. The set design is great
Cool! Can't wait for this! By the way, how do you Gimp the lasers?
I think he did something like this.
IMMA FIRIN' MAH LAZER!!!

Basically, yes, something like that. I use multilayered blurring.

I do like you do. But I'm not very good on that.
I just read the previous page, and that sheet is awesome!
Seems like a great idea.
This film looks like it is going to be successful! I can't wait for it to come out!
And another bump.
I finished the first rough edit (editing is hard!) and the film will be about 10 minutes, 30 seconds, without intro and end titles. I found out that the people on this site were right: you get much better results when you FIRST record the voices and THEN animate to the recorded voice. Unfortunately this means that I will have to rerecord some of the voices (less important parts) myself because right now, the timing is simply off. Luckily, I can also adjust the timing by adding / removing some duplicate frames. But lot's of work still remains there.
Currently I'm making an inventory of all the sounds that I need. Those will either be sound effects or ambient noises. Preferably, I will record those myself, but some will just not be possible, so I'll have to scavenge the internet for those.
I've sent the first draft to someone who will score the film for me, and I'm interested to see how that will turn out.
That's it for now, keep you guys posted!
This is looking really nice! Thanks for the in-progress posts.
