Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

I got some ideas, would love to win first place, the prizes are sick and it would get a good reputation. I will be practicing by making some of my very first films ever, I can't wait, this will be awesome and interesting to see...;)

Everybody wants to win, but YOU are the only one who actually think that you can win. All those great brickfilmers will join with the master project. It's not that easy. mini/wink

I think he's going to win. I think he's going to win because he thinks he's going to win.

Seriously, can we get some risk-takers here? People willing to give it everything they got and create an awesome film even if they're not known as a "veteran brickfilmer." Let's stop worrying about whether or not my camera shoots at the resolution so-and-so's does or whether I've been taking pictures of plastic toys for as long as so-and-so.

I don't think we should brag, but please, go into the project with a mindset other than, "I'm gonna lose and my film will suck."

I hope a first-time brickfilmer makes something for this that rocks your socks off.

Hear, hear!

Film's don't have to be technically perfect to be interesting or good. It helps, it really does - but it isn't the be all and end all. Actually, given this theme, a novice brickfilmer who isn't set in their ways might have a better chance of coming up with something new and fresh.

Smile and say hello to people. It costs you nothing and can brighten their day.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

T.G-Tom -

I didn't say I WAS going to win, just saying that it would be nice (with those prizes, who wouldn't?). I also understand that there are many others that are "veteran" brickfilmers that will join in the competition and I'm glad, that's the challenge, which is one of the main reasons I love to compete in contests, I never get bored! mini/smile In fact, those veteran brickfilmers are the ones who inspired me to get into to brickfilming, it's fun and it puts good use to the LEGOs I have! Also, the competition deadline is a pretty good deal of time away and I've got time to practice. I'm just really excited to get started!
All in all, it's gonna be a great contest and I'm not offended by your comment (I'm glad you wrote it, it's a good reminder) mini/wink Thank you for the support AmandaHart and Dr Neo Lao, it means a lot! mini/bigsmile  I will try my best and wont let you down! I can't wait to see what ideas you guys come up with (if you decide to enter). Anyway, stay tuned for some of my first films that will hopefully be released around mid-November...and let me know what you think, if you're up to it. Thanks again and good luck to all!!!  mini/smile              --Spud-Nic Studios

Well said! mini/smile We at Hemma Studios are entering Coins in, and we're practically Veteran Brickfilmers! I don't care if I win, though I'm still hoping nonetheless. I just think that with it, if you win or not, you'll gain experience, popularity (Depending if your Brickfilm is good), and it'll be good publicity for your Brickfilmers.

No, not really. Sorry.

Re: BiM 2010: Avant-Garde [CLOSED]

I had an idea, but Smeagol talked me out of it.  When I think about it, it wasn't very "avant-gard" anyway..... oh well! Off to come up with a new concept!

Making a story about a guy's life in an apocalyptic world. I think it will be "Avant Garde" enough...
