Uncompressed could be a bit huge, but something fairly high quality (like an h.264 .mov file or something) could work. Please do not blow your video up to HD if it is not HD, as we'll be running into some issues with that anyway given the limitations of Vimeo.

We will be upload all the videos to a private Vimeo account, yeah, and deleting them afterward.
Oh, by the way, take all the time you need to finish your films, but if you finish your film with time to spare please do submit it as early as you can - this will make our job easier in preparing the videos for the premiere and allow us to clear up any technical issues beforehand. Thanks.

That's pretty sweet that he was able to create the score from your edited footage.
I was lucky to have a friend that plays guitar like a demon. He recorded 4 songs for me and I had to edit them into the film.
It's been a challenge mixing it in as Rob usually plays lead for a metal band. After months of work I'm at the business end now, in final post production.

Yet another quick question. Can I use the score for "Death Rides a Horse"? The Film is in the public domain, so I don't see any problem with using it, I just wanted to check.

Hey Smeagol, if we wanted to use a picture not taken by us as a backdrop, would we need written permission for that also?
Uh yeah that'd be nice. If it's late on in the process and it's too late it's forgivable at this point, though.
And yes, music from a movie in the public domain is fine, just credit it accordingly.
Major milestone reached: I just rendered the entire film for the first time (minus title and end credits) and it came in a whopping 13.5 MINUTES! Thank goodness the maximum time limit was removed from the contest. 
Now to get seriously busy with sound design.
Smeagol, will a film of that length cause issues with the STAR Premiere Film Festival broadcast? Should we send it to you cut in 2 pieces, like we'll need to do when we upload it to YouTube (10 minute limit).
No, it shouldn't cause issues to have a vid that long, provided that the file size is still manageable.
STAR is our main summer contest, but there may be smaller contests later.
when is the next contest?
I though THAC was going back to being in the summer?
