There's been a few Brit drama/comedy things filmed where I live. Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution with Catherine Tate and The History Boys.

There's also a scene in Brassed Off where the brass band play near where I live. Halifax also seems like a crappy town but it's nice to know Ewan McGreggor's visited haha.

Oh and there's a TV show called Waterloo Road that films relatively close. My friends have seen a few of the actors hanging about town.

I'm in Kuwaii, I'm extremely near Jurassic Park, or parts of it. I'm going to see the tree where they found the eggs, with the enourmous roots.

At home in California, I'm quite close to Hollywood.  But, even closer to me, is a pretty beautiful High School where many movies were filmed.  The most recent one I saw was the Alvin and the Chipmunks sequel.  Also, parts of Soylent Green, Logan's Run... You can see my favorite old ice cream place before it moved out in Dude, Where's my car?   We see big trucks and lighting setups a lot around the school, every couple months.  I'm not sure, but I think parts of Grease were filmed there, it's old school. Nyuck.  I'll have to find a complete list.  My neighborhood has a lot of movies done.

According to IMDB, 5 films have had at least parts of them filmed in my town. I think North is the only one of them that has been produced by a major studio, however.

I used to live about 8 miles from Shepperton Film Studios, and for a while my wife worked for a company that rented out film editing suites, AVID etc.  Their equipment was used on Braveheart, the first two Brosnan Bond movies, Judge Dredd. all of those had scenes filmed at Shepperton.

We now live abut 50 mins away from Lacock Abbey where some scenes from the first Harry Potter film were shot.  I am about 18 miles from Stonehenge so any film with that in it as well.

The first 2 episodes of a 6-part series known as The Last Train were based in Sheffield. The Full Monty had a few shots taken in Sheffield, one of the scenes were done not to far away from my house. I've just been the Internet Movie Database(IMDb) and I found a list that shows that quite a few films were done in Sheffield too, not many of them are well-known, but if you're curious, here's the list.

I used to live five minutes from Vasquez Rocks, lots of films shot there, like Blazing Saddles and a scene from Bill and Ted 2. Apparently there was an old film that takes place in my town, but it's small enough that I'm not naming it.

Haha, the Vasquez rocks are in every Star Trek show and several of the Star Trek movies as well.

My Highschool's football field was used in the beginning scenes of the movie, Never Back Down. And actually, that whole movie was shot in Orlando/Orange County, which I'm about 30 minutes from.

They filmed "Loft" in Antwerp wich his half an hour away from me.

Great movie

I've been at the Loft they filmed in, couldn't go inside though.

Part of The Da Vinci Code was filmed 3 miles from where I live!

The Departed was filmed in Boston, as well as Law & Order, except that that is a TV show.
