Fargo was partially filmed not too far away where I live.
Brokeback Mountain was filmed near the city I live in (Calgary.) And I was actually working at Heritage Park (A local historical village tourist attraction) when they filmed parts of The Assasination of Jesse James up here (No, I never saw Brad Pitt) ![]()
I live in Western Canada, so lots of westerns come up here to shoot.
The Punisher was filmed in Tampa, which is a 10-20 minute drive from me. ![]()

Ooh, nice. The Assassination of Jesse James is beautifully shot.
VN, Fargo is awesome, you should see it.
Office space.
Awesome movie... cool, do you know the complex were they're working?
I've seen it. I don't know the name of it though.
RP Hoogle wrote:Oh ho another Scottish brickfilmer.
Is that a bad thing?
Oh no. I was just expressing my little shock. I've counted 4 of us. Me, you, I believe Buxton is Scottish and there was this guy on brickfilms ages ago.
Evan Almighty was filmed around VA. Steve Carell hurt himself in Richmond.
Parts of Hannibal were filmed in Richmond as well, I believe.
Also, the cartoon Doug is based on Richmond. The dude who created it lived here.
before, I lived in Milan, now I live in a really little and unknown town...so I would think about "Miracolo a Milano", directed by De Sica (father)...but I don't have in mind any other film...
They are going to make a movie here in Piteå, so I guess that's the nearest film to me.
Lolz there are NOONE that made a movie in "Skövde" with 50.000 pepole! ![]()

None. The nearest place anything cool was filmed is in London.

I'm in the Philly area, so Transformers 2 and just about all of M. Night Shyamalan's films are nearby. Signs probably qualifies as the closest, as it was shot in the northwest suburbs of Philly. I live not 15 minutes from the town featured in the film, and several of the cornfield sequences were shot on my college campus (while I was still in high school, unfortunately).
The opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan was filmed on a beach very near me! No joke! ![]()
Hate to bump such old threads, but I definitely thought this was a fun thread.
I recently learned the actual Amityville Horror house is near me.
I read another film about the case is being made soon at the location. Also a lot of films and TV shows are filmed in the Hamptons, which is near me also.
Okay, lots.
