Yeah, I am waiting to upgrade to a better laptop just for some extra speed. What are the specs on the laptop you are currently using? And yes, Boats is a great program, I love it!

Boats Animator 0.10.0 - Export To Video

Boats Animator 0.10.0 is now available. This version brings exports to video, short play and you don’t need to change directory every time you start the app anymore.

Captured frames now have a unique id in their file names that is generated on start up. This removes the risk of overwriting data and removes the need for the “current save directory already contains captured frames!” warning message.

I am leaving boats animator for a bit. I am leaving boats animator and going to Tahoma2D only because boats currently does not have built-in camera controls. LWS is a nightmare for me, and sometimes the webcam controller wont launch, so I often have to delete LWS and then re-install it. Tahoma has full camera controls, so I have to make the switch. Let me know when boats gets camera controls! mini/smile

Boats Animator 0.10.1

Boats Animator 0.10.1 is now available. This minor release fixes video export not working if the folder path contains spaces.

Behind the scenes, I am currently working on moving the app from NW.js to Electron. This is a much better supported tool and should pave the way for big features in the future such as project support. mini/smile

I was wondering, does boats animator have direct webcam control, like setting exposure, and other camera settings?

It currently does not. But hopefully it will soon!
So for now you need another program like LWS (logitech webcam software) to control the settings.

Boats Animator 0.11.0 - The Big Boring Update

This important update moves Boats Animator from using NW.js to Electron. This will make the application more reliable and it will be easier to add new features in the future. Most of the changes are behind the scenes but some you may notice are:

  • Easier to install on macOS and Linux - you can now download `.dmg` and `.deb` packages

  • A more "native" feel - Boats Animator now looks and feels more like the other programs on your computer

  • New documentation - check out the revamped user guide for Boats Animator

  • Better security - all web links are now HTTPS and the app integrates better with macOS and Windows' camera access settings

Boats Animator 0.11.1 (HOTFIX)

Boats Animator 0.11.1 is now available. This release primarily fixes a bug with Export Video. There are also a few bug fixes specific to macOS. Users are strongly advised to update to this version immediately.
