Yes, it would.

Yes, it would.
I wouldn't think so, since a mech is specifically a giant robotic apparatus.
Woops, sorry Tenny, was still writing my post when you posted yours .
To clarify, the joint type and the size works, but change the extorter to look mechanical.

Oh, then never mind, I can't join.
I didn't have enough pieces to make a Pagano Puppet, but whatever here it is. http://youtu.be/YRUqZxOE3r4
I'm not too proud with it because I didn't take my time and I should have animated the puppets on a baseplate.
Does anybody need me to extend the deadline for another week?
I'd like to extend so I can have a competitor.
Although I am not sure who possesses the right materials to design their own mech.
I would do it, but I haven't got a mech. Next challenge though.
I doubt anyone is going to enter, unfortunately. I would enter, but my mechs are not suitable for animation. I may try to animate something this after noon, but no promises. (Of course, I know that the challenge has already ended, but I may animate anyway, and you can either accept or reject my "entry" )
Kd, If you want to go ahead and think up ideas for the next challenge, you can go ahead.

Oh man I totally forgot about this because of the Super Bowl party we went to. Yeah, Kd2000 you can go ahead and choose an entry. The only critique I would give about your entry is I think the arms move too much and the legs fling back too far. I guess that's really the only reason it didn't seem like a mech walking. But I like your mechs, and I thought that you did a good job animating on a studless environment.
I am waiting for an entry/response from Rioforce so let's be patient.

I have to agree with Tenny's critiques. I also felt as if the arms flung too far back. I've seen the arm flings on Robot Chicken but the characters are happily skipping and not walking. My robot-mech had an unhappy face and the legs weren't having the springy hop so it didn't work. The legs also swung too far back. I should have used a base plate for my animation so I won't need to use my hand as a rig. Overall I wasn't happy with the choppiness, the movements and flickering lights but I am okay with the Luthor-Mech throwing superman (even though it isn't a walk cycle).
Rioforce says he's not going to be able to enter.
I don't have anything in mind.
Chainsaw? Does everyone have a chainsaw piece. I know I don't.
Thumbs joints? May required destoring the minifig's hand.
Drinking water? A minifigs face is flat
Kissing? Valentine's Day is coming up but it may be too easy.
Strangling? Probably too violent.
Blood? A lot more violent and some may get uncomfortable.
Side walk?
Robot dance?
Tell me what you want. Try and agree unanimously.
I like the kissing Idea, all lego get to do is push there faces together.... doesnt really reflect a good kiss....
chainsaw? YES! if we can also digitaly edit stuff!
I don't have a chainsaw but I have this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30194
I like the idea of the chainsaw, but the sidewalk, blood, and Strangling would all be fun.
If you kept the blood to the rule of only being able to use LEGO bricks for blood, it would lesson the gore.... and be more fun.
In my opinion it would lessen it more than lesson it. And about the kissing I really don't think it would be much fun to animate, especially since I never kissed anyone in the face myself.
I think kissing would be a great idea. Sure, most of us have never kissed, but we've seen movies, right? You said that it "might be too easy", but the discussion in the "Should there be more Romance in today's Brickfilms?" topic seems to say otherwise. It's not done often, and the closest to it in the animation challenge was "Romance". We don't have to make it disgusting, just keep it simple. Short and sweet.
Though, on the other hand, chainsaw sounds good, but isn't much of an animation challenge. We're not animating the chain on the saw, just moving the minifig to cut down something.
