Re: The Animation Challenge

Sorry for the double post, but here's my entry. I noticed that awful light bump near the end, but couldn't fix it, unfortunately. mini/sad

Re: The Animation Challenge

well, @KD2000, I CHOOSE YOU!
i just really dig it, and I also really liked the fluid animation in RioForce's entry. and Shutterpoint, I like you including a story, but, i didnt really see the re-enforcing.

I just dig your use of glue @KD2000.

thanks for the entrys guys.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Third time lucky.
I'll think of a challenge soon.
I liked Rioforce's and Shutterpoint's entry too.
Both of your lightings were better than mine, it'll be a long while before I can reach that standard.

Re: The Animation Challenge

May I suggest that we limit the challenge time down to maximum of one week from now on (unless it's a really hard challenge, though, something that hard probably wouldn't fit on this topic)? People tend not to make entries until the last week and the last couple of days of the challenge, and a 2 or 3 week challenge is just a huge waste of time.

Good idea, I agree.

Remember the first challenge? It went on for four months and even got viral. Fancypants would have never got to work with LucasArts if he had a week to do his entry.
I will choose the challenge time that corresponds with the challenge eg. Lightsaber duel - longer deadline, walk cycle - shorter deadline.
If anyone requests to extend to due date before the deadline is up, I'll decide whether I should or shouldn't.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Push ups is the next challenge. The deadline is The 22nd of January.

Every push up I've seen in brickfilms were fairly bad, even Filmyguy's attempt in the Lego Dark Knight Rises trailer was bad. I hope to see a push up that looks realistic.

  • You must use a Lego minifig because the arm have not elbow joints.

  • You are allowed to replace a minifig's arm with clay.

  • I encourage making different push up variations eg. One arm, decline and so on.

I am hoping to get at least 5 entries.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Awesome. I'm going to start working on my entry in a few hours.

Re: The Animation Challenge

That's a good one kd, I'll have to see if I can make an entry.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Finished my animation… going to do voices and such later in the week.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I will try my best to enter.

I can extend the deadline if you want more time, but I think you have enough time to finish it.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I would make an entry but I've had to go home for a week. I'll only get back to all my animation stuff with like a day to spare, and I'll need to spend that catching up on uni work.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

I think I will be able to make, so no, it's fine.

Hehe. That was really funny rioforce. Not bad at all.

I can't say your pushup animation was ground breaking, but hey, I have always considered pushups as one of those movements for a minifig that will always be a compromise with reality. The reality that when you do a pushup, you have something like 5 degrees of joint rotation available per arm versus the minifig's... 1.

I actually liked him rooting around under the car for his keys the best.

Today is the 20th in my country, tomorrow is the 20th in most countries. I'll choose the winner  alongside with my opinions on each entry on the 22nd (AEST).

Yeah it's still the 19th in the US. I'll try to complete my entry tomorrow.
