Re: BRAWL 2014 Update Thread!
I think so, I can clearly see it's there. I'd never even think it slightly risky.

Halfway through animating last night I fell asleep at my computer, now I'm behind by alot of animation ![]()
I'm thinking about buying a couple of LEGO set's at the store and animating an entry tonight. The college dorm desks are pretty small so I might just end up using the desk as a baseplate and rely on sticky tack for the rest.
Ha! Just finished filming.
May need a few pick-ups, and may film a bit more to help with the pacing, but it's basically done at this point.
Now on to the editing.
Also, filmed my first shot without a mod element earlier, but not wanting to loose the shot I put the camera back and added a nice pan at the end to reveal the mod. And it actually looks pretty good.
*sigh*
Still on Post production, and taking good, hard looks on my awful voice-acting/animations. ![]()

Lucky you! I'm still filming because I had to do some re-takes because of lots of set bumps. I've got a car-case scene to film (which I now regret writing into my story) which is going to be extremely hard...
I know I always say this, but I honestly belive this film is no good. It doesn't it together very well.
The other weird thing about my two BRAWL films is that there is no possible place to put music in them, so I need ambient noises, but since I don't have those, there is sort of an awkward silence behind the voices of the actors.

Well, lets face it, I think everyone believes their film is complete rubbish, but from looking at all these frames from people's entries, I believe there is going to be quite a few good ones.
Anyways, I'm almost done with animation. I just have two more scenes to film today, and then tonight and tomorrow I will be editing like crazy. Unfortunately, I'm leaving on a trip Saturday morning, so I lose some time, but I'm pretty confident that I will finish in time.

Try freesound.org. All of their sounds are under Creative Commons, and there is a lot of ambient noises. You have to be willing to spend some time search and sampling audio, though.

If you think your's is bad, you outta look at mine, think of BAD ANIMATION, except Half-assed all the way through. ![]()

Unsurprisingly, I'm using a ridiculously large number of camera slants. Because I filmed this film out of order, it's been kinda hard to remember which way each slant should go and stay true to my rule of slants.
I always try to have consistent turns with my slants. Left slant, right slant, left slant, right slant et cetera. Though, two left slants can happen without being interrupted by a right slant if there is a level angle betwixt the two shots (the same goes for the opposite).
I'm mostly done with Korange now, very close to wrapping things up.
The delightful thing about this set is the the colour mod decorates the set and on top of that all four characters in there work as a the mod. So at no time in there do I ever have to be worried about where the mod is or isn't.
Yup, I doubt I'm gonna make the deadline.
My family's Monday-Thursday vacation to stay with family was extended into the weekend. Plans changed. As of right now, I'm away from my animating desk, with only about ten, or fifteen seconds of real stop-motion, and eighteen seconds of credits. This one was going to be good, guys. And I still may add some audio, and show you guys what I got done. But, don't expect this to make Saturday's contest deadline, because it won't.
I had no idea that July was going to be such a busy month for me and my family. High school applications, summer projects, activities with friends, etc. kept me away from my animating desk. I had scripts, complete an ready to be made into brickfilms, a music video in the works, and even some live-action stuff I wanted to get done.
But, that just didn't happen. A new month begins in a week, and then it'll be off to school for me. But, about this ongoing contest, good luck to all you other entrants, who are determined enough to get their videos done in time to meet the deadline at the end of the week.

Thanks! This helped a lot and I found what I needed.
I don't know if I can pull it off. I've had a fever for almost 2 weeks and I might be busy with the doctor for a good part of the day. Which means less vital animating time. I have 4 scene's left's. I was hoping to finish two today and two tomorrow but I don't know if that's going to happen.

Well, we're dropping people real fast here. ![]()

Don't worry I havnt pulled out yet! ![]()
My brother let me borrow his iPhone for use of the magma vat. But the iPhone started messing up and a shot was ruined.
He seems to have fixed it, though.
Sometime I really want to get a tiny mirror to put under there so I can us a different light instead.
The light I'm using for the stained glass has been working pretty well. It slowly dimmed over a hard day of BRAWLing, but a fresh pair of batteries will likely see it through to the remainder of the competition.
Less than a page worth left. I'm getting there, but the stress is getting me.
Last night I did two successful anti camera bumps....while animating the same frame. ![]()
I'm watching Ken Jennings play Jeopardy! on YouTube while working on my video! ![]()
Watch it on YouTube!
Despite the quality, this is probably one of the better frames of this particular scene, although the sidewalk in the backdrop seems a bit vacant to me, oh well.
