Contest version
I have now have the complete version of what was intended to be my entry into THAC 11, more than twice as long as what I submitted. For the record, much of the footage you see in it was actually shot in the original 24 hour time period, but had to be cut to make the condensed "contest" version make sense. The only scenes that needed to be shot after the contest were the most of the dialogue scenes in their apartment and the little criminal "montage" in the middle.
Alright, so...couple of things to explain about this. First and foremost, this is a total hackjob of what I originally intended to make.
I ran out of time to get everything I wanted to get done on this before the deadline, and in the 11th hour (or, rather, 22nd), I decided to find a way to take the footage I had and cut something together just so I could have an entry in the contest. This is the result of that, though I had to cut a lot of footage and subsequent jokes from it to make it work. Also, it's far from polished, as I didn't really have time to do much in the ways of audio editing, the mixing is really poor and there are no proper sound effects.
So I'm not exactly proud of this version, though I still wanted to get something in for the contest regardless. The technical polishing is fairly shaky and I'm not even sure if the story makes total sense as is (the Christmas aspect of this is definitely lost in translation). However, the good news is that I plan to finish this up very soon, and it's probably gonna be far better than this, so I'll be posting the fuller version once that's done.
For now, though, here's my submission to THAC 11.
