Thanks, but they're actually by this guy. He's done a load of Future Foundation decals as well, which I keep meaning to use.

As you can tell, I have far too many Lego top-hats.

Wow, that's fantastic.  I like the way they all look together. mini/smile

I only have three top-hats.  Four if you count the printed one from Mr. Hide, and five if you count my actual top-hat.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Thank you. mini/smile

If I'm correct, I should have eight top-hats.  Five are from the old Adventurers/Orient Expedition theme (my brother and I collected quite a few of those sets back in the day), one from the Series 1 Magician, and two from my Modular Buildings (Green Grocer and Town Hall).

I like to think of The Gentlemen as a sort of Adjustment Bureau-esque group of mysterious entities who watch everyone, but nobody knows who they actually are and what they do.  I doubt I'll ever be using these in a film though, this shot was more for fun (and to show off my absurdly large top-hat collection mini/XD ).

I have yet to own a real-life top-hat--although I suppose I am more of a fedora person.  I really want to get a nice Panama hat.  And a fez.

The Crimson Gumdrop, a Faloovian hero who defeated the Zombie Empire with Ouskavar about a century before the events of Sharks and Clowns.

Nice figs, but man THOSE TREES. Simply beautiful!

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

I like him, especially that face/hair combination.  However, I think the short cape looks a bit odd on him--he needs a long one.

So did "The Lost Invention" take place a century before "Sharks & Clowns"?  Or are Faloovian goblins really long-lived?

The lost Invention takes place between the fall of the Zombie Empire and the robot war.  Ouskavar usually adventures with the Gumdrop, but not always.  So he was still alive at the time of that story, just not present.

However, Faloovian goblins are quite long lived.  Their lives go on to about 120-130 or so.  It's not entirely uncommon for some goblins to reach 150.
However, they are the only race in Riigo-Faloo which lives longer than humans.  Elves, for instance, are not immortal at all and just live as long as humans do.  The only way for a non-goblin to live longer is to be a vampire, which would make one biologically immortal, or to be a wizard.  Wizards live to be around about a goblin age, sometimes more or less depending upon the skill of the wizard.

Ouskavar is in his 50s when he helps defeat the Zombie Empire, then in his 80s when fighting the robot empire, then in his 90s when opening his college where he teaches adventuring for the last 30-40 years of his life.

Wasn't there a Crimson Gumdrop Era? How did that come about?

The Crimson Gumdrop Era is the time of peace that came after the Zombie Empire fell in the 811the Year of Blinding, it is called so for the hero who brought the era about.  It's generally one of the nicer times in Faloovian history besides the short robot war and the nineteen years at the end of the era where sharks and clowns started hating each other because of evil magic.
The Crimson Gumdrop Era ended in the 913th Year of Blinding shortly after the almost war of Sharks and Clowns when the Orb of Finding was rediscovered and used to find an absolutely perfect ruler for the Kingdoms of Riigo-Faloo to be united again as the Third Faloovian Empire.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Here is my interpretation of the First Spinjitzu Master, carrying the Staff of Light. In the BFCU, he actually used to commune with the Japanese gods, who inspired him to make all of his golden weapons and create Ninjago.

This is Frog-master. After touching the ancient staff, an ordinary miner was possessed by the spirit of the Frog-master. He will not rest until the staff is returned to the ancient shrine, which it was lost from centuries ago, and until then the Frog-master wreaks havoc across Japan.

One of Grizeos' newest creations, the acid suit is designed to withstand even the strongest acids (thanks to being invulnerable) and also enhances his strength. I'm going to try and design more suits - obviously there's already the Overlord suit, and I'm thinking maybe a scuba suit, an ice suit, a magic-resistant suit and some kind of gravity-bending/black hole suit. Any ideas anyone?

When he has more powerful opponents to face, or on the days when his magic is weaker than usual, the Ice Vampire dons this armour, his ice-sai and a freeze ray designed by a mysterious associate. I think I actually did pretty well in finding a use for the arctic-Batman armour that wasn't superhero-related.

He's a Man, and he has a banana. Not just any banana - this one's magical! With every bite he takes, something magic happens. Not sure why, when he's so simple compared to all of the others in this batch, but I like this fig a lot. The banana also turns into a sword.

So the Fox got sent to prison for trying to eat the Gingerbread Man, but being as sly as he is, I don't imagine he'll stay there for long…
He was scarred by an incident involving a phone that wouldn't stop ringing, and now can't stand ringing or repetitive noises of any kind.

Great minifigs mini/smile

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

The Acid and Ice Vampire suit especially nice.  I'd like to see a scuba/ice suit for Grizeos, personally.

For some reason I also really like Banana Man, I have no idea why.  He just looks really awesome.  I could see him as a sort of weird adventurer who travels the land helping to save people by using his banana-sword and magic.  Since something magical happens every time he takes a bite, is the banana ever-lasting?  Also, where did you get his torso?  I don't recognise it.

Also, I really like the background.  Is it something Ice Vampire-related?

Not sure about banana-man's torso, I think I actually was given it by a friend. I haven't decided if the banana is ever-lasting or not - one idea was that every time it gets fully eaten, it reappears back in its Banana Box full ripe and whole again, ready to be eaten all over again.

And yes, the background is the Ice Vampire's throne room. I'll be putting some WIP pics in the Frame from Upcoming Films thread later today. Really excited for this animation, although there's no way it'll be done by January 6th like I'd originally planned.

The torso on the man with the banana is from the Paradisa sets from the 90s.  That particular torso was in quite a few sets at the time (not that it would matter if you got it from a friend)

The Fox looks so great with the orange outfit, it's perfect.  I need that fox.  The Frogmaster's ugly; but ugly in a good way. The Ice Vampire armor looks really cool, great use of a nice variety of parts!

Thanks! Perpetual Twilight was actually what inspired me to do all these vampire characters, fun trivia-fact-of-the-day.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

BTW did you make the LotR elf-ears yellow in post-production?

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

No, thank goodness, that would be so much work!
For something I did when working on The Shrouded Past, Pritchard mentioned using a yellow highlighter on flesh to make it look yellow.  That was an awesome tip!
So I just used a yellow sharpie every time I filmed anything.  I needed to do touch up work quite a bit since it would smear off if touched at all, but I think it was worth it, they looked great.  It just takes patience when you have to continually re-apply the highlighter.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

The ice warrior armour looks really cool, but I feel like you should find a piece or something that covers the batman emblem.  I guess he's a vampire, though, so maybe it's a little okay, still, it does seem a little odd since it looks like Batman.  Perhaps you could have some bearded vampire who doesn't wear a helmet.  But those colours look really good.

Also, can I play a vampire?
