Grown Ups 2

6.5/10

I think I like the the original better, this one was funny, but was more imature. I liked the cast. The was good, but from time to time, it was a bit bad. I think this is a okay movie, I don't know why everyone is giving it crud.

The Internship

9/10

This movie was very funny, I loved it. The cast was amazing, and I love Dylan O' Brien. They all played they're parts nicely. It had a nice ending, and I laughed a bunch.

Back to the Future
I finally got to watch the movie, but I kind of have mixed feelings about it. I loved the movie itself, but they threw in way too much language, and most of it coming from the kids' mouths.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Grease
ew ok this was awful. the songs were great but the film was just awful awful. the story was so predictable and there was no character development at all. I usually like musicals but this one was ew.

I assume everyone is giving it bad reviews because it is a lazy, insulting, unfunny pile of trash that not even 5 year olds should laugh at

But, you couldn't exclude the classic "If we don't hit 88 MPH, we're gonna be seein' some serious sh!", could you? Sure Gale and Zmeckis OD'd a bit on the language. But, some it--well, it just belonged there, really.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I didn't say ALL of it was out of place, less would have been fine. But I'm also not really for how strong the language was (even if it was part of a classic quote).

Adam Sandler was good in Click and Happy Gilmore in my opinion.

Dr. Strangelove

It may sound odd, but the age of this film is what made it enjoyable for me. The use of dark comedy in an area of politics which at that time was touchy,  made it especially funny.

Secondly, Peter Sellers. The man must be a magician of some sort. I had no idea he played three separate parts until I looked up the credits at the end of the film. Needless to say I was amazed.

Overall, it was very enjoyable yet funny in a way that only nuclear war, ex-Nazi scientists, vodka conspiracies, and paranoid army generals can be.

Also, it's great to be back.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Strangelove!  And strangely, I just pulled the DVD off the shelf myself yesterday.  And yeah: Peter Sellers is awesome in 3 roles (Mandrake, the President and Dr. Strangelove) each with a different accent.  I laugh at Mandrake's "My leg" line when he doesn't want to fight.  My wife loves Sellers in his Pink Panther movies.

There was a similar movie called "Fail Safe" from around that time.  It is like Dr. Strangelove but with the funny parts taken out.  A live TV performance of Fail Safe aired on CBS (was it CBS?) in 2000.  We recorded it on VHS tape when it aired, then we watched the west coast feed 3 hrs later.

Oh for god sake, your that guy who, whenever someone says that Adam Sandler movies suck, you instantly go back to one of hist first movies like "ooooh Happy Gilmore was gooood and Billy Madison was fuuunnyyy", those movies came out 17 years ago. Click came out 7 years ago, what the hell has he done recently thats good, (he was decent in Click but that movie as a whole is bad)

Infact the only role that I absolutely loved him in (infact the only movie he's in that was even remotely good) was Punch Drunk Love which got him nominated for a Golden Globe. He CAN be a good actor, he's proven it before, but he seems more interested in shooting insulting "comedies" during his weekends that can get him and his SNL friends a quick buck thanks to an immense amount of product placements.

He enjoyed two films the guy has been in- that's literally all that was said. Drop the hostility.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Punch-Drunk Love stank.  No wonder it got a nomination, as awards usually go to these types of movies.  Oooh, artsy.  But Sandler's best movie of all time is THE WEDDING SIGNER!

nah by that time I was so inundated with the camp that I didn't give a thought.

I actually liked the campy parts of the film. The part I did not like was the awful writing which there shouldn't be an excuse for
also I watched

The Dictator
Ok so this is not really my kind of movie but nonetheless I found it enjoyable. It was at times way too much for me and I pretended to leave to the restroom so I could avoid watching parts of it. My favorite part was the "coconut water has as much potassium as three bananas" joke!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Adam Sandler: Was good, but stopped being good either due to lack of trying or just inablility to pick good films. This is not the first time an actor has slipped down this path - nor will it be the last.

I'm one of those people who believe that every actor has at least one 'perfect' role in them. Sort of like Keanu Reeves in A Scanner Darkly, Mark Walberg in Boogie Nights, Bill Nighy in Love Actually, and David Bowie in The Man Who Fell To Earth. These are limited actors finding that one performance that defines them. And thus I believe that can make up for 17 years of terrible career choices.

Oh, and before someone inevitably brings up Nicholas Cage - you clearly haven't seen Adaptation and Bringing Out The Dead. Or...maybe you have and you didn't like them. Its true that Nick's only interesting to watch when he plays a man going completely insane, but those two films are the only times he does it with a degree of subtlety.

I really liked this movie, it had amazing actors, and good writing. I loved the cast, I never knew Joey King could act so dramatically. It was a really good movie with good effects.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Ha, I never knew King could act, period.

S.W.A.T. (2003)

Pfft.

I say, "Welcome to product placement heaven, my friends." Not much of a film, really. It's more of an extended episode of some cop show. If you're looking for a "thrill ride", and you see this film on the shelf at a movie house, do yourself a favour and don't rent it.
