Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

Well, in Batman Begins it's called the League of Shadows, and of the two, the latter sounds so much cooler to me. mini/wink
And as to the feller, I don't want to reveal too many people just now. So you'll have to wait to find out on him.

(Good spot by the way! And maybe it's a good thing that you don't lurk around my Photobucket account, as you might learn too much from the pictures.)

As for an update, here's the set I'm currently using. http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture153.jpg

Most of the angles used will be close-ups, like this:

Yeah the league of shadows does sound cooler, personnaly i think the guy sitting between joker and ra's al ghul is hush, or it is King Tut from the 60's batman show but that would make no sence because he is egyptian, Thanks mini/smile

I like you're Ra's Figure, but maybe change the hair to Mutt's Hair.

UPDATE TIME!
I've finished almost all of the outside city shots, so now it's time to move inside.
This here is tavern that it owned by....Well, you'll see. mini/wink
I'm trying to get a lot done this week, so hopefully I'll finish this scene and then be able to move on to the villian's lair.

Here it is as shown in the film,

...And now without the figs.

...And then one of the less than reputable owner.

The Penguin won't have much more than a cameo, so no bio for him.
Anyway, that's all for now.

(Oh, Ghost, Mutt's hair color is too dark to match. So I'm sticking with that one.)

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

Honestly, I love the concept.
The only things I would change are the voices. Put up a casting call or something. Better voice actors make the difference, trust me.

I haven't animated anything in over 3 months. I am sorry about that, but I have been working on my magnum opus: Ghost Cat: Port of Call New Orleans

Don't worry, the teaser-trailer thing was whipped up as a last effort to get more Lego out of the Superheroes contest. It failed, but I'm using it as a "Concept" video. Everything will be much better than what was seen in the teaser, the sets have been re-designed, new voices will be coming in, and my animating skills have improved a lot. Most (If not all) of the animation will not even appear in the final film, and I will be putting up a casting call to get better voice actors some time in the future.

I usually wait until after the filming is complete to get the voice actors, but some people say it's easier to get the audio beforehand, so I'm toying with the idea up putting up a casting call before I film the major dialogue scenes.

That depends on how you animate.  If you taking a picture for every single frame in the film, even when nothing is moving, the yes, you definitely need the voice actors first. However, if you're doing the way a lot of people, including me up until recently, animate and only taking pictures for the movement, and then pauses are a single frame that is prolonged for however long the pause needs to be, then you don't need voices recorded before animation.

OK, thanks a lot.
In that case, I think I'll get a casting call up soon. I kinda do a mixture of the two methods, as sometimes Vegas leaves the still pic alone and everything goes fine, and other times it crops them ever so slightly, and makes it appear like a camera bump when transitioning from video to pic. When the latter happens, I just open MonkeyJam, insert the frames, check the timing, and add or subtract as necessary. So it's not a big deal, but having the voices before would help.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

Sorry to post again so quickly, but the Casting call is now up.
So please go check it out!

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

@General Ned, thank you, and the answer is yes and no, no large roles are left, but there still are some extra lines I need for the battle scene.  PM me for details

@AquaMorph, thanks for the bump!
And although that's a cool pic, one has to wonder about the blood with Batman's no killing-rule. mini/tongue

Well, I do believe I'll take advantage of this fine bump to also provide an update.

First, I'm done with the Tongal film, and second, in case you missed it in the other thread, I have decided to not enter BIM:2012.* So that means production can now resume on “Batman: The Timeless Knight!”

I am currently in the process of upgrading my studio, but I plan on re-starting animation tonight or tomorrow. Shelves still need to be put up for models and sets, and the rest of my Lego still needs to be sorted, but I've already got another computer monitor and a larger animation table! Now, that doesn't mean regular updates, but I'll try to get some out semi-regularly. I will also attempt to put out a trailer when I'm done with the necessary scenes. (Couple of beach shots, a few swamp scenes, and some battle clips) And will also try to get a decent poster out at the same time. But since I know how much ya’ll like pictures, here’s a few for good measure.

As you can tell, I really need to get a black background behind the set, but the set itself is done. (The Ewok Attack bunker will not be seen in the final clips, I just forgot to move it.) What's the best way of making a black background thing that's around 4' wide and 1.5'-2' tall?  I need to cover-up that cabinet in the wider shots, and will need it a lot for other shots. Painted plywood? Large poster-board?  Big piece of painted cardboard?

As always, questions and comments (And especially answers) are encouraged!

*"Captain Obvious 2: Plumbing Problems" will now be filmed alongside B:TTK, with the latter taking slight precedence.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

@Pritchard Studios you can use black cardboard as it would work well and the small parts are fine I'll pm u.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

I probably shouldn't bump this since I'm so horrible about giving regular updates....  mini/tongue

Anyway, the first trailer has now been released! Please go check it out and tell me what you think.

Now, as for an update, all the voice actors except two have gotten me their lines. So that's just about complete.
With filming, it's been going slowly, but still going. The beach scenes are done, a big, long fight sequence is now finished, two more big fight scenes are nearing completion, and I've gotten some more assorted filming done.

I've also designed a new logo, so some critique on that would be very appreciated.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight update thread

UPDATE:
I'm not going to lie....I have no idea when this will be complete.
It'll be done when it's done, and that's all I can promise. It's been said that's it's better to not promise a date, and then just release it once it's done, than to promise something and miss it. And I agree with that.

BUT, the good news is that it is progressing, and here's one of the more recent frames:
(And yes, the tilted angle is for you ANP.)

I approve.

Also, I like the swamp, it's very large.
