Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Dead Man's Chest is my favorite POTC movie... mini/cat

I loved the Kraken and Davy Jones.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I've heard of the actual series, but this is silly. I think Bruckheimer is taking it a step too far this time.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

@topit
I haven't actually read the book, but all I know about the movie is that I know the producer, he's the dad of one of my best friends, so my friend left for six months last year to Taiwan during filming mini/smile pretty awesome...yeah.
The Lone Ranger looks like a fun, fast, forgettable action flick, just like the majority of films these days. I'll probably go see it for the ride, but I doubt it'll be any better than that mini/wink definitely looking forward to the sets, if there will be! (Especially remembering the bandit and cowboy, as well as the native Americans, from the collectible minifig series)

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I think the trailer for the new Great Gatsby looks amazing. I've literally just finished reading the book for my English Lit. class, and I really enjoyed that, and it looks like the new movie will do it justice. Finally, a decent actress to play Daisy!

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I just watched that trailer, and I must agree, that looks like a really fun movie. One point that amused me was the juxtaposition of the 20's imagery and the modern club house music or whatever. If the whole movie has these sorts of subtle anachronsims I bet it could turn out to be really quirky.

WHELP, it looks like I have to read the book now!! mini/bigsmile

They're Kryptonite handcuffs. mini/tongue

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

mini/confused OK....
Hadn't seen that pic before, but perhaps the upcoming trailer will help give us an explanation.
(Speaking of which, The Hobbit releases in 11 days!)

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Speaking of The Hobbit, it's possible that I'll be able to see it at Midnight December 14, the first showing. mini/bigsmile

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, but I think this poster is quite epic and wonderful. It's a poster like this that would get me interested in seeing a movie. The last film wasn't super great though... perhaps this one will do better.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I loved the last Star Trek, and I love Star Trek in general, and BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH! OH YES!

Well, if this is about the origins of Superman, before everyone knows he a hero, then it's likely that he's been arrested as a vigilante, or that the military's captured him to find out about his powers.  I mean, if I was the government, I'd be pretty worried if a super-powered invincible being suddenly turned up out of nowhere to fight criminals.  From the government's perspective, he could equally well suddenly turn on them and attack the government the next day, so they perceive him as a threat.

Either that, or those are Lexcorp soldiers. mini/tongue

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

[About the Star Trek poster]  Is that meant to be London? mini/confused

I'm asking because the one building on the right is the Gherkin, a building in London, but none of the other buildings look like ones from London.

The first reviews of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' are in, and they seem mostly positive...
IGN gave it a pretty good review, so did Yahoo, though they generally seem to say it's not quite as good as LOTR
