Ooh yes, House Of Wax, that's a strange movie.

Indeed, altough I think i will see some more films with Vincent Price, I love The Great Mouse Detective.

The Dark Knight Rises
So far I have loved Nolan's more artistic take on the Batman trilogy. This film had excellent cinematography and choreography. This indeed was (imo) the best Batman film so far. It had a nice balance between dialogue and action, while not exploding to much stuff like The Avengers. The music score was also great. There were some plot holes however but some were explained by the director (e.g. the absence of the Joker)
Overall a great film, but a bit slow at times: 9.5

... Bane, intimidating and menacing as he was, is probably the least-memorable of Nolan's villains because he lacks the kind of dimension and development other villains have had.

More than all of that, there was a greater sense of immediacy and unpredictability to The Dark Knight that Rises lacked. The Joker and his violence was more disturbing (and thrilling) because it was so random and unpredictable, and that film had the feeling that something bad could happen at any moment...

Nolan could only work with what the franchise gave him. The Joker is a violent and unstable character; The Dark Knight was a film based around that uncertainty. Bane is a hulking behemoth with a motive; The Dark Knight Rises is a film based around that more structured chaos. I can understand if you didn't like the difference, but that's not due to Nolan, and both films are fantastic for capturing the essence of the villains. Just to throw this in too - Cillian Murphy makes a brilliant crazed Scarecrow.

The Dark Knight Rises

To sum up my opinion about the film, I'd say it's a fantastic film, and it's very near to the brilliance of "The Dark Knight."

Be that as it may, it was Nolan's choice to use Bane as the villain of the film.

Ice Age: Continental Drift
I enjoyed this film immensely. It was hilarious, with good jokes and funny scenes. The fight scenes were OK, and watch out for slow-mo. The animation was amazing, as you'd expect. Scrat was as funny as ever, and a few new characters were introduced. Nicky Manaj voice acted, and I think another artist did too(Drake). I think they over-did the whole romance thing. For some reason the last fight scene reminded me of Disk Wars(without disks)... mini/shifty . My new thought of the day:
"Brother, be more than a rodent."

Death Proof

It was really awful, I didn't think Tarantino could do a movie that was worse than Jackie Brown, but he sure could! This was garbage! 1/5.

Well, Grindhouse movies are kinda garbage. I found the whole tone kinda authenthic, 45 min chick blabbing and then one very awesome scene, another half our of blabbing babes and then ending on of the greatest car chases in years!. It's all very slow build of with great payoffs.

Very true. However, Bane is an interesting villain and Nolan did well making the film to suit his style. Personally, who would you have cast as the major villain? I'd like to have seen a new Penguin.

I don't think Penguin would have fit into Nolan's Batman Universe.  It had to be a villain who could be grounded into reality, hence why Bane was chosen (Though his character was still changed to fit in the universe)

Zelig

Quite a funny Woody Allen film at the end of his 'funny period'. I'm curious as to how the idea came about, a mockumentary in the style of 1920's newsreels about the relationship of a psychologist and her patient who can assimilate into the personality of anyone he's with and transform his appearance into them too. The synopsis sounds quite weird but the film pulls it off as if it's completely sane and normal.

I'm not entirely sure. I think it was quite nice that Nolan picked Bane because the character hasn't so far been in any of the major motion pictures (from what I know of), and personally I think Nolan did with Bane fine. Nolan said why he didn't choose The Riddler (it was his first choice but then he changed it to Bane): he felt that The Riddler was too much of a character like the Joker. He was insane, he liked to play with his victims in strange ways, etc. And I totally agree with that.

The Dark Knight Rises
It was good, but not even comparable to the Dark Knight. Just a little bit better than Batman Begins; in my opinion, joker, scarecrow, Rah's Al Guhl, Two-Face, and the mob were all better villians than Bane. Bane was kind of boring, and you couldn't understand him. 3/4

Azur & Asmar
Despite the hokey plot and the extremely hokey ending, this is a total masterpiece. I loved it when it first came out, and I love it still. Especially the art direction, because Michael Ocelot is the best.
But just saying, the english dub is stupid. If you don't speak french then watch it with subtitles because it's much better that way.

Scarface. I've always loved the idea of Scarface and the Ventriloquist, it would make an excellent movie.

The Dark Knight Rises

It was a good action movie, but not much more than that. It was just to many characters and they all had their moment in the film, it was a bit to much. I liked Bane as the main villian, tho I felt pretty ripped off at the end. 3/5.

Corpse Bride

This wasn't good at all, didn't like the humor, the singing or the story. 1/5.
