Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Captain America: The First Avenger
Man, that was great! I gotta go pre-order The Avengers now.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
Better than the first IMO. It was pretty good. I had a few laughs.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Never gets old.

It was actually a remake of a really bad movie called "The mysterious island" that was made back in 2005.

Megalodon
Not too pleased with this movie, the pacing was a bit fast, and it seems one second they are down below the ocean, the next second they're up above, with no warning. The shark is hardly even apart of it, and the movie makes little to no sense. I give it a 1/4

Prometheus
I really enjoyed this movie, it is not a horror movie, as it honestly never had me feeling too suspensed, and there aren't hardly any jump scenes. But I thought the movie made you think of life's greatest mysteries and I enjoyed the movie. I give it a 3/4

Mr. Deeds (2002)

It was a good movie. I laughed lots of times; plus, it had some morals.

8/10

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Amazing Spiderman

Loved this film! Very much like the first movie. (After all it is the second version)  Great jokes, timing and lots of irony. Great movie over all! 9/10

In Time
The concept was great, maybe the execution could have been a bit better. Maybe a back story about how everything has changed since our time (the setting is in the future). Overall, it was pretty good. 4/5

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Transformers: revenge of the fallen
My Chorus class watched it on the last day of school, which was a month ago. I must say, the teacher has some really bad choices as to what movies we should watch.

No it wasn't. It is based off the same Verne book though.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Pulp Fiction

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
It was almost funny-bad. Picked up a little at the end, though. The kid who played Eustace was the only person there who could actually act, though, the other actors were surprisingly bad. I mean the voice actors were OK, mainly the mouse guy. And a lot of the things that happened seemed a little forced, especially Edmond almost being corrupted by the gold. I mean if it were to happen to any character it would be his, but it just came out of nowhere. And then it was never mentioned again. It could have worked if they hadn't just shoved it in there because it's in the book. Same with the sub-plot about Lucy wanting to be like Susan or whatever. The plot just seemed really convoluted. So many things pop up and then are never mentioned again and the whole film is just all over the place.
Also, the first one seemed like they'd really put a lot more effort in. This one just felt like it had been churned out for money and for there to be a trilogy. You could kinda tell that a lot of the actors were just there for the paychecks.
But yeah. I didn't really like this one. I mean there were moments when it was somewhat entertaining, but it wasn't often enough, I wasn't usually invested in the characters enough to care. The most glaring problem was the acting, though. I mean that was just awful. Was I the only one who noticed that?

Our Idiot Brother
Meh.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Amazing Spider-Man
Better than Sam Raimi's version.  Fantastic cinematography, brilliant VFX and great performances from Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (who is seriously hot)
3D wasn't bad, but is by no means perfect.  Music was kinda disappointing, didn't really have a clear or memorable theme.
Overall a solid, but slightly unneccessary film. 4/5

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Lets see... were to start...

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Well, I have to say, I rather liked it. The story was unbelievably typical. Bad guy wants to dystroy world, bad guy eyes soviet nukes, bad guy gets nuke, good guys have to stop him and nuke, yada yada... You probably get the idea. But yeah, I actually think it was a really entertaining movie. The action and stunts were awesome for the most part, and made up for the lack of story (for entertainment purposes). I wouldn't watch this for realism though. I mean, the tech was cool, but wayyyy over the top in some cases as was a lot of the stunts and things. But hey, they are IMF. mini/smile I actually liked it a fair bit better than the first one, which is the only other one I have seen. My personal rating? 7/10

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
I liked this one quite a bit also. Again, it has a pretty bland and typically predictable storyline. Another thing: does anyone else feel like they rush the stories on these movies and yet get nowhere fast? Kind of does to me. But again, the action makes it entertaining. mini/bigsmile I like the actors performances also (for the most part). The slow motion was awesome I have to say. It was there just to impress obviously, but it was cool. Had some humorous parts too. There were a couple (well... mainly one) parts that were unnecessary. Just plain ridiculous and unnecessary. I was pretty much like: mini/frustrated Other than that though, I liked it well enough. About the same as the first one. 7/10

John Carter
Well, I have to say... why on earth (no pun intended mini/tongue ) did this have to do so badly in theaters? I'd like to see more, but I suppose they may be awhile in coming now... Seriously, this was a way underrated film in my opinion. The story was, perhaps, less predictable, though still not that amazing (am I seeing a trend here?). It was decent though. What was spectacular here, were how they managed to bring Mars to life (in the context of the story) and give it history and feeling. The VFX were outstanding. It was just a fun movie for me.

It is by no stretch of the imagination a perfect film. The writing and character development could have been better. The acting was slightly less than perfect sometimes, etc. Still though, I really enjoyed it. Now, I have never read the books, so for any of the book lovers I can't comment to authoritatively. I have heard that the John Carter of the books is a lot more interesting than that of the movie's. This, if true, would be just one of the movies shortcomings. On the other hand, having not read the books, I came into it knowing little and was thoroughly entertained. 8.5/10

That about sums up the last couple movies I've watched. (Like anyone on earth actually cares... mini/smile ) Sorry for any typos. It's like, close to 1:00 in the morning here.

Poor branding in general, otherwise we'd be talking about the movie John Carter of Mars.
