As I said before, I loved that film as well, but perhaps people are being a little too harsh on Mickey because they all liked the film? Rather than randomly shooting down what the other opinion speaks, let us attempt at intelligent conversation. And really, Mickey gave a lot of reasons for not liking the film, while all of us who liked it just said, "it's awesome lololol

I liked the film, but that was because I thought there was a lot of intrigue in the storyline. What was the signifigance of this plot, and why did Wes choose to make a film out of it? The face of the film looked like one of those Hollywood tearjerker dramas like We Bought A Zoo or something, but there was a much darker side to the story. (partially referring to

but mostly the sheer shock of seeing these kids grimly carry out their duty like a bunch of fire ants or soldiers. Like mob mentality I guess.
Also there was great cinematography and some very interesting ways that Mr. Anderson chose to tell the story (like with the gnome guy as the narrator.) Also, beautiful music. It didn't sound exactly the same as did all of Desplat's other works, and it had a weirder feel, like Danny Elfman I guess. And there were times that special effects were intentionally fake looking, I guess to make the film seem old fashioned. Anyway, I loved that film.
