Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@EmmaExecute - Awesome! Glad to hear you are making a new film. You probably don't know me as I'm new, but I've watched your videos in the past and I noticed you subscribed to my channel the other day. Thank ya!

@Keesret - Can't wait, Kees! Looking good! It looks a bit too contrasty but it might be the computer screen I'm viewing it on. How are you adding the widescreen matte?

Lovely frame. I really like the minifigure and the spotlight lighting you've done. A nice background, I believe it's a studio type area? Anywho it looks really good as a blurred out background. The image quality is superb too!

Thanks! Yes you guessed correctly, it is a studio of some sort...

Your frame looks like it's lit perfectly!

@Repelling Spider I have a custom preset in Vegas that does that. I then click save movie and export the frame as a .png photo.

@Everyone Else Glad you guys liked it mini/smile !

@EmmaExecute I'm so glad you're back!! You were the one who inspired me to get into serious brickfilming! Can't wait for it!

This is sort of inspired by that famous scene from 'Silence of the Lambs', when Clarice meet Lecter for the first time.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

It looks pretty good. I like your choice of color scheme, it's very balanced.

Woah, second image today (I'm on a roll)
Had to re-learn Blender, I'm pretty happy with the result, just need some colour correction to match it with the Stop Motion

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I don't like it very much. The set is extremely bland, and the CGI doesn't look convincing.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Hmmm... It seems rather confusing to me. The camera angle at least. Also, I agree with ANP on the blandness of the set. Perhaps add some crates, boxes, or just filler props to make it look a little more engaging?

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

You need to make the roof material a different color, so as to distinguish it from the rest of the set.
Also, you need to make the bricks in the wall individually visible.

Other than that, it looks good. mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I agree with ANP. The set might needs a bit more detail, because it took me a while to understand whether that was a wall or a road (and I'm still not sure): if that's a wall, some pillars or something on the roof could help. I mean, anything would help, actually. And also something on the street like a basket, dirt or just a bit of rubbish might add a bit of realism (I have no idea how much work is needed to make all that in Blender, I'm just suggesting what I think might help, and without knowing the context of the scene).
Also, in the other image, I'm not really a fan of the color choice (blue next to a yellow-ish white), but probably it's just the light. And I also think the chamber might need a sink and a toilet (again, I don't know the context of the scene, but I guess he's in some kind of prision, and usually that stuff is in every cell...just saying).
However, the camera in both frames is well placed.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Emma- the camera quality is great, but can I recommend using real lights for the spotlight? the background would be dark then, and it would add more contrast to the minifigure.

Here's a frame from my OYO entry.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I feel like instead of standing perpendicular and stiffly, perhaps this minifigure should look like he is getting ready to hit the ball. Like this, except of course he can't hold the bat with two hands. But rotate his body a bit, put one leg in the air or something.

(IDK. I've never played baseball really so I don't know how you're supposed to stand. It just seems like if you held the bat like that it would be hard to get it to go very far.

Also, on the back wall, you should put some white tiles on the top to make it look more smooth. Other than that, it is quite good.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I think that it's meant to stiffly contrast with the OYO figure. Looks good, Funtastic. Have fun animating that crowd. mini/wink

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

What is OYO anyway? I've heard of it but I can't really recall what it stands for. Sorry mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Forgive me Duff. Looks good, you're lighting and angle are great. The focus does look a tad outta place though. I'm pretty sure you'll have that all sorted up or at least compensated with animation. mini/wink

@Funtastic: Great usage for the ladders! also, is the guy in the stands holding a gold cup not wearing pants? mini/lol

@Duff: You really need to dust though's dark green pieces. Don't really like the backwards baseplate for the background, but I'm not sure what it's suppose to be, so i guess i can't judge. mini/wink
