What about my idea about THAC or is that to much of an inside joke?
@Pritchard, I actually really like that idea. A couple of years ago, I had an idea somewhat like that. It would of happened on board a large space station, in it, was the Bricks in Motion HQ, and they came under attack by Aliens... Ok, maybe that isn't like your idea... ![]()

An idea I had a while back which I may have mentioned was a brickfilm about morals.
Basically, it would have text saying something like "Don't drink and drive"
Then have a clip of something humorous and horrible happen to the guy who drank and drove.
The movie would go on showing other morals like "Don't do drugs" "Don't over-eat" "Don't play with guns" and all sorts of other stuff.
Everyone would animate one or so of these little quick skits which would just last a few seconds or so, and you'd have a sizable film.
It would be fun, funny, involve everyone's unique interpretation of their theme, and could appeal to lots of people with its slapstick humor.
That would be fun too! The morals could really be shown humorous like for example "Look both ways before crossing the street" A guy purposely crosses the street with out looking bot ways to be a "rebel" and nothing happens at first but then he does it a second time and stops and says "Hah! Nothing happened!" and gets hit by a car!
@Chirochibechirt The "Look both ways before crossing the street" idea that you've said isn't good enough because who does that? Who's stupid enough to think that not looking both ways before crossing the street will make them into cool rebels? I mean I'm sorry but the stories like this are supposed to be for people who actually do bad decisions and the situations have to be pretty common. Like "Don't drink and drive" one of my friends does that really often and I keep on repeating to him that he's an idiot for doing it but he just keeps on doing that because after parties he doesn't want to take the bus. The idea that you've mentioned is just as meaningless as for example this one:
"Don't jump from the roof top"
A guy thinks that if he jumps from the rooftop and lands in style all of his friends will think that he is very cool and so he jumps from the roof top and dies. How often does this happen?
If doing a project like that you're supposed to face problems that are very common nowadays (like drugs, alcohol abuse, violence and etc.)

Another good one is "Don't eat fast food",as Obesidy is a very common disease, and 66% of the US population has obesidy.

Yes don't eat fast food is a great idea. Maybe we even could do something anti-racist themed as to be honest racism has always been and probably always will be a problem no matter what race you are.

btw it was an example for ANPs thing. As a joke. Stop overthinking things ![]()
Oh I see so we're turning into comedy central here or something?
This thread is for suggesting ideas so it's pretty logical that any presented idea (even if presented as a "joke") might be commented on. Get it? It's the purpose of the thread.

I was replying to ANP's post and expanding on it

Do research before you bash something
I rather like making something similar to that ASDF muvey.
Or maybe it could be like one of those generic job interview questions and it's asked to everybody
Like "You're in a burning building. Wat do you do?" and then a montage of what everybody does.
And we could expand it to multiple questions. "You find a wallet on the side of the road. What do you do with it?"
That would be fun, although I still really like music videos, I seem to be the only one who wants to do another one of those. bohemian rhapsody
Do research before you bash something
Seriously?
Don't u get it? I read ANP's idea and I really liked it all that I "bashed" as you say even though I simply criticized was your joke/idea. Again I think that ANP's idea is good and I don't think your "expansion" on the idea was any good, that's all and what's with the words "bashing" and stuff did I hurt your feelings or something? I'm sorry if I did.

I didn't mean actually use it. I was just saying "doing it like this?" and its okay I'm fine

Like texting while driving! We could do something like this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZwMJAZa
re=relmfu, but we do it in brick film version (becuase we obviously can't hire Lenka and Drake Bell for this. ![]()

My older Brother got into a car crash because he was texting while driving.
Another good one is "Don't do the Cinnamon challenge",as that can suffocate and kill you.

Not texting whilst driving, and looking both way are good ideas I think.
Basically, anything which could possibly be a bad idea would be good, ranging from life threatening habits to simple bad etiquette (with people completely over reacting). Such as asking someone their weight and then they eat you.

AHAHAHAHA!!
I read the end and broke into laughter
I'm glad you guys like my idea, and like I said, it's just a starting point, so we can change it (or dump it) if we want.
Now for a little defence,
#1.
I like minifig's idea, but I think Pritchard's expansion on it has highlighted a crucial flaw. We want the finished product to have universal appeal, which is something that can't be achieved if the film is just a bunch of in-jokes.
If the film centres around BiM users, our interactions with each other and (the route this seems to be taking) us against the world, that's no fun for outsiders to watch.
True, but my idea would also introduce each of us (however briefly) and would show off the many styles and different ways of animating. And it would be like a mini-trailer for each of our other films. For example, if ANP showed off Mr. Munchy, people may want to find out more about him, and would end up watching more of his videos in that quest. The viewers would see these seemily random people showing up, and wonder why they're there. And then watch our videos to find out.
#2
But I think it needs a bit more that about a dozen or so fight scenes put together. If it's edited as each brickfilmer's fight at a time, it could get repitious. If it's edited like ANP said, that would be a bit better, but it could get kinda hard to keep track of what's happening.
Yes, it would obviously be edited like ANP said, why wouldn't it be?
And in fact, each brickfilmer would choose how to get the trolls out of his world. He could just fight them, or he could trick them into going back into the portal, or he pick any number of different ways to go about that task. For that matter, most of us could just start singing and that would make the trolls leave in a hurry. ![]()

Also, complex linear narratives like that don't really lend themselves too well to community projects.
True.
But really, how complex is a bunch of bad guys running in, being opposed by good guys, the good guys win, and everything is set back to normal?
And now that I'm done with that, I do like ANP's idea a lot.
I'd be nice to have something with a moral. (or morals)
And that wouldn't demand near as much time and effort from each member as something like my idea would.
So, I'm just see what the majority of the members like, and are willing to do, and go with that. ![]()
I would really love to do this project I think it could be done it's just going to take a little bit of elbow grease.
The main problem with community projects like this is that each brickfilmer has to stay in his own clips, and they can't really interact with each other very well. It has to have a story that allows each one to do his own thing, but towards a common goal. And it all has to fit in the same storyline.
Here's an idea that popped into my head.
Spoiler (click to read)
The film starts in a computer-bank filled room, a shadowed form moves close to one of the screens, he then presses a button and is "sucked" into the wall. He then appears in a white room, as more creatures like him appear.(They are mostly black, with a little bark gray.) Then Trolls (like these) appear as well, and large number of portals appear. (They look like "The Magic Portal" portals as a homage to the first brickfilm)
The first figure then says something along the lines of "Go, infect...and destroy the brickfilming community!" The creatures then yell and go into the portals. The community part starts when each person logs into BiM, he/she then gets "sucked" into thier respective "World" (The place all of thier brickfilms have taken place in) Then, that person has to team up with with the people in thier brickfilms to push all of the trolls and lurking ninjas back into the portals and out of the BiM computers. (For example, ANP's sigfig could team up with Mr. Munchy, Vladimir Vango and Yam-Yak-a-to.)
The conflict would take place in each brickfilms respective "world" and using that person's unique style of animation.
The movie would end with the brickfilmers taking out all of the trolls and ninjas, and saving BiM.com from utter destruction. Also, it wouldn't just be fighting, each brickflmer could chose how he wants to rid his world of the trolls.
Yeah, it didn't sound that great once I typed it up, but still, it could be a starting point.
This would showcase each brickfilmer's unique style, and would also highlight that brickfilmer's own characters.
Of course, it could also get to be VERY long, so it's not without it's faults.
