Ooh, it could be all mysterious and Clue-like. A detective (voiced by the coordinator) goes around asking the minifigs who killed a person. ![]()

That's a good ideal. ![]()
I like that idea, but it might be a bit hard to coordinate that, having someone voice the detective.

How about a film about a "real" version of the Internet, where this site is like a building, and we all voice ourselves.
You get what I'm sayin'?

I get what you're saying, I think. Perhaps it could be something of an office building or something.
^I could be the psychopath murderer who hides in the closet, who jumps out and kills everyone at the end. ![]()
I like this idea already.
The main problem with community projects like this is that each brickfilmer has to stay in his own clips, and they can't really interact with each other very well. It has to have a story that allows each one to do his own thing, but towards a common goal. And it all has to fit in the same storyline.
Here's an idea that popped into my head.
The film starts in a computer-bank filled room, a shadowed form moves close to one of the screens, he then presses a button and is "sucked" into the wall. He then appears in a white room, as more creatures like him appear.(They are mostly black, with a little bark gray.) Then Trolls (like these) appear as well, and large number of portals appear. (They look like "The Magic Portal" portals as a homage to the first brickfilm)
The first figure then says something along the lines of "Go, infect...and destroy the brickfilming community!" The creatures then yell and go into the portals.
The community part starts when each person logs into BiM, he/she then gets "sucked" into thier respective "World" (The place all of thier brickfilms have taken place in) Then, that person has to team up with with the people in thier brickfilms to push all of the trolls and lurking ninjas back into the portals and out of the BiM computers. (For example, ANP's sigfig could team up with Mr. Munchy, Vladimir Vango and Yam-Yak-a-to.)
The conflict would take place in each brickfilms respective "world" and using that person's unique style of animation.
The movie would end with the brickfilmers taking out all of the trolls and ninjas, and saving BiM.com from utter destruction.
Also, it wouldn't just be fighting, each brickflmer could chose how he wants to rid his world of the trolls.
Yeah, it didn't sound that great once I typed it up, but still, it could be a starting point. ![]()
This would showcase each brickfilmer's unique style, and would also highlight that brickfilmer's own characters.
Of course, it could also get to be VERY long, so it's not without it's faults.
Wow, sounds really cool! ![]()
Pritchard's idea is delightful, and should be done. ![]()
It'd be especially cool if it were edited so that it switched from scene to scene, so that they all kinda happened at once, and put some super epic music with it.
Hey I've got an idea why don't we make a community project about THAC and what brick filmers go through to get there film done in time.
BTW great idea Prictchard!
ponies. explosions. the doctor. and Half life 3. 'nuff said

Oh wow Pritchard's idea sounds awesome, as complicated and impossible as it is.
I'd be willing to help out with it if it ever happened. :U
Okay, time to weigh in. (Remember you're allowed to refute my opinion, just because I've done it once doesn't mean I'm right!)
I like minifig's idea, but I think Pritchard's expansion on it has highlighted a crucial flaw. We want the finished product to have universal appeal, which is something that can't be achieved if the film is just a bunch of in-jokes.
(For those of you unfamiliar with the term, and in-joke is a joke that only a small number of people in a certain crowd will find funny. It's like you have to be in a club, see?)
If the film centres around BiM users, our interactions with each other and (the route this seems to be taking) us against the world, that's no fun for outsiders to watch.
Now at this point you might be asking "But Hazzat, The Day Brickfilms.com Crashed was about brickfilms.com! And loads of people have watched that!" And that's correct, but it was a simple premise that anyone can pick up immediately: a website goes down and the people who use it go crazy. There was no need to know who those people were, other than that they liked this website. For what is being proposed here, not knowing the characters beforehand would leave you feeling like an outsider whilst watching the film. If I was in that position I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much, and I probably wouldn't watch to the end.
Also, complex linear narratives like that don't really lend themselves too well to community projects. While that's what the first community project was, it didn't benefit much from being made by different people (if anything it was hampered, given the fact that it took two years to make). Simple, adaptable narratives like Late For Work (one of many failed projects) are perfect: the adaptable nature allows for a lot more variety in the clips people make for it.
And the other key feature is to make sure participants have to do as little work as possible. For Brickfilming Is Just Awesome, everyone didn't even have to animate 5 seconds!
Nice idea, Pritchard. But I think it needs a bit more that about a dozen or so fight scenes put together. If it's edited as each brickfilmer's fight at a time, it could get repitious. If it's edited like ANP said, that would be a bit better, but it could get kinda hard to keep track of what's happening.
I like the ideas of us having a conflict with some kind of invader and having our characters with us. We could blend that with my idea, so that we'd all have the same kind of set. Something simple, like white walls with blue along the top (like BiM's page colors). We could have a script written by one person, and each person can film a scene. We wouldn't have to be contained inside our own clips, we could include other people in by making their sigfigs.
An idea I had a while back which I may have mentioned was a brickfilm about morals.
Basically, it would have text saying something like "Don't drink and drive"
Then have a clip of something humorous and horrible happen to the guy who drank and drove.
The movie would go on showing other morals like "Don't do drugs" "Don't over-eat" "Don't play with guns" and all sorts of other stuff.
Everyone would animate one or so of these little quick skits which would just last a few seconds or so, and you'd have a sizable film.
It would be fun, funny, involve everyone's unique interpretation of their theme, and could appeal to lots of people with its slapstick humor.
Asdf? I'm not familiar with that...
Getting a little off-topic here, but:
