Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Walkabout
Loved this, though I expected it to get a lot weirder near the end.

The Tree of Life
Still excellent seeing it a second time.

Sherlock Holms: A Game Of Shadow
Oh my gawsh. Words can't describe how much I loved that movie. Make sure to watch it on the big screen though.

The Legend Of The Gaurdians: Owls Of Gahool
Absolutly fantastic! At some points I thought I was watching LOTR.
8/10

Laura (1944)
This is probably one of the best classic detective movies I've ever seen. The story and mystery of it all is brilliant.

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Back to the Future Part I

Enjoyable, yet unoriginal. Time travel has been done before, but there's something about this one that rises higher than the other time travel films.

Back to the Future Part II

I watched both the first and second ones on the same day. Many a chuckle it gave me, due to many silly ideas, such as

Spoiler (click to read)

a tenth Jaws film being released in 2015

I also liked how confusing it was when

Marty McFly from 1985 traveled back to 1955 when another of his 1985 self was there as well

I have yet to watch Part III.

Part I: 8.5/10
Part II: 9/10

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

I'm surprised their isn't a jaw's 10, they stretched it to jaws Revenge (come on, a guy got eaten by the shark and survived)

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The last movie i watched is Bridesmaids. It is a story about friendship. The good thing about the movie is that it was pesented in a very funny and light manner. Two thumbs up! i never laughed as hard as i did with this movie.

Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe
"Now that's what I call groovy!"
Fun little TV movie, Bruce Campbell was great in it, as always. Plus Burn Notice is awesome. I enjoyed it, despite a few flaws. I loved the little references they did every now and again, particularly the chainsaw bit. If you're a Bruce Campbell fan you'll like this.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Star Trek (2009)
mini/eek ... Whajuzhappen?  That was awesome, even for a guy that knows next to nothing about Star Trek.  The CGI almost makes the entire movie worth seeing over and over. 9/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Agreed.
I've seen it three times already.

The Help
This was a heartwarming tale told well, even with a lower budget. It is the best film I've seen this month, hands down. It is a delicious mix of drama, humor and friendship (it is magic after all, right?). The only annoyance I got was the "Mean Girls" vibe I got from most of the white housewives in the film. One of the funniest moments in the film was definitely

Spoiler (click to read)

when Minnie made a "chocolate" pie for her former employer. I did my first real-life ROFL in years!

Not only does the film contain good humorous moments, but it also has a good plot that is surrounded by the large friction blacks got in that time period and region. Some moments brought tears to my eyes, especially the ending. That's not saying this film ends on a bad note. I would have to call it bittersweet at worst.

There's so much to say about this film, and I'm still excited about think of it, which is why my review is a jumbled mess and all. I can't figure out how to accurately describe this film without giving out too many spoilers, so I urge you all to rent this film.

The Letter
A Classic in which Bette Davis shoots a man claiming he attacked her when in reality he was her lover.

Yep, I even loved the lens flare effects that JJ Abrams did even though many people said it was a stupid idea.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I totally loved Star Trek. mini/delirium I've seen it three times too.

It's even funnier when you're a Trekkie, I keep noticing more references every time I watch it. xD
I don't care that there were lens flares everywhere. It looks pretty. mini/dizzy

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Julie and Julia
We watched this in my french class, which has about a 1:4 ratio of boys to girls. So don't mock me.
One: What does this have to do with french, other than that half the whole thing takes place in france? (we should have watched A Town called Panic)
Two: the plot was really, "lolwut" and I felt like why am I watching this
Three: The musical score was really nice. Alexendre Desplat is very talented, he did the music for the last harry potter movie and Fantastic Mr. Fox. But although the score was well done the whole time it sounded like a huge rip-off of Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.
Four: I can't tell if Maryl Streep was trying to act cheesy or not. If she ususally acts like that then I have serious doubts in the Oscar awards system.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

they should of made you watch Monty python & the holy grail for french class.

The Devils Rejects.
To me the end scene shoot out is one of the most epic ones I have ever seen.

Birds of Alfred Hitchcock. Great movie made without today's processors and effects.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959)
Great movie! I was surprised at how much from the book was actually in there, but I can't say it actually followed the book. I can nit-pick about a few things (like Alec losing his Scottish accent when the party went underground mini/tongue ), but it was still overall an enjoyable film.
