Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Incredible Mr. Limpet
Meh. It wasn't that good, but it wasn't bad in my opinion.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Source Code
While I wasn't too impressed by the technobabble, I enjoyed it a lot and watching how the story played out. It was interesting to note some of the thematic similarities between this and Duncan's first, Moon.
Super 8
I really liked the way that this melded elements of Abrams and Spielberg together, but I found myself more compelled by the story of the kids and their journey than by the looming crisis propelling them.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Surprisingly good. This was my introduction to the series and I'll definitely check some of the others out.

The Indian in the Cupboard

Fell asleep around the opening credits. Yup, it was that bad.

Superman II (1980)

I liked the first one better. Probably because Richard Donner's film cuts would have been better. I've got to get his director's cut. It was okay, I guess.

Spoiler (click to read)

I also didn't like how they sort of killed Otis off.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Rocker

Nothin' too special but it was quite interesting to see Rainn Wilson in other roles than The Office's Dwight. The movie itself had a few quite enjoyable moments but as I said it's nothing special even when it comes to comedies. The Cast was good though.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Oldboy
Awesome.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
Pretty darn solid flick...

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit
Pretty good, but being in the Kurt Russel collection I was kind of hoping for more from him. mini/tongue Overall it was pretty good, though. Storyline was predictable but fun. mini/smile

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Adventures of Tintin

Really great movie with some great CGI. It had a more natural and realistic feel to it than Pixar or Dreamworks. Looking forward to a sequel.

We read the book at school when I was 10. Saw a part of the movie at my friend's house. Hated it.

Planet of the Apes

Classic.
Now THAT is how you make a downer ending while giving the audience the satisfaction of being entertained AND while getting a valuable message across.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes

I was actually taking the entire move seriously up until the last scene. And I was actually enjoying it up until the last scene.
Oh boy, that last scene. It was obviously trying to be a downer ending like the last one and failed so horribly it was almost funny if it wasn't so sad.

The funny thing is, there is no way I won't be able to stop myself from seeing the next one.

Peter Pan (2003)
Over-the-top story.
Over-the-top characters.
Over-the-top costumes
Over-the-top action
Pirates.
Adventure.
Flying people.
Pirates.

Simply brilliant.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Wow. It was amazing. I love the plot, I love the character design and I love the animation.
The animation WAS a little bit weird sometimes, but not so weird that it was distracting.

Midnight in Paris

Some of the best movies are those that take things that have been done before, and re-do it so well that it seems fresh, new, and exciting. This is one of them...

If you fell asleep, you didn't see the film, so how could you rate it?

Well.

The Help

Wow. That was pretty good, the film was very entertaining and funny but dramatic too. Worth a watch for sure.

I sleep with my eyes open. Some people can do that. mini/tongue

I didn't fall asleep. It's just such an atrocious movie. Hugo and Shark Tale combined would be better than that garbage.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Sometimes it's best to keep opinions to yourself, omarnol.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Nosferatu

The first silent film I have ever seen. It was a bit slow, and the music didn't seem right to me most of the time, and it had some weird random cheesy stop motion scenes, but I really enjoyed a few random shots which looked really, really cool, and Nosferatu looks absolutely awesome.
Seriously. The costume. The makeup. IT'S SO COOL! mini/twitch

As far as I know, there's multiple versions of Nosferatu running around with different soundtracks. People try to cash in on it by doing their own score and distributing it. The version my film teacher showed me had the most annoying score, while one I found online was more tolerable.

The Big Year
Pretty good movie IMO. Good story, good actors.

New York, I love you

The Cast is outstanding. The music was very appealing to me, I enjoyed every track I've heard and I especially loved Shia LaBeouf's segment, it standed out from the whole movie (but in a good way). One of the best Shia's performances I have ever seen.
