The animation was good, it just needed to be sped up. What fps was this?

I don't know precisely how many fps it is, because they change during the clip. At the beginning it's 6, then it's 8 when they're walking and at the end it's 5. But I wonder if I speed up, it seems like they're running, not walking. Any suggestion? Thank you for your help, and one more question: I've read the thread, but I haven't figured out exactly in which section of the forum I should put videos like that one. I thank you again for your kindess.
I've used imovie, can you advise some better programs? Possibly freeware? And if I make a movie which is not a test and it's finished, in which section should I put it? Thanks
