Only saw The Wedding of River Song a few days ago, I'm a bit of a slowpoke (you can put music on your myspace pages now?), as to be expected, t'was amazing. Steven Moffat plans this stuff out so well.
Also, they're replaying all of the episodes from the past six series' on ABC every weekday, weird watching Christopher Eccleston play The Doctor after all these years, he's nowhere near as good as David Tennant and Matt Smith. I guess he kind-of set the character up a little for them, I dunno, but he doesn't hold up too well now. I'm not saying he's terrible or anything, he's still good fun, but Tennant and Smith are much better IMO.
I'm beginning to like Matt Smith just as much as I liked Tennant, which is saying a lot. What are your opinions on Smith so far, just out of curiosity?
I saw my first episode of this a few days ago and I must say that I didn't really like. It was rather creepy and also very confusing. I don't care about cheesyness or not, I actually prefer cheesy movies, but I just didn't really like it. (PS: it was the episode with the demon game show)
What I want to know is why he yelled "I WANT TO KILL ALL THE GARLICS!!"

Dr. Octogonapus: BLAAAAAAAAAAAH!

When is The Lion, The Witch and The TARDIS coming out again?
Christmas Day.
It's a weird episode, feels like an American TV Christmas movie.
I thought this would be the best place to post this: LEGO CUUSOO: Doctor Who Tardis Interior and Exterior.
Le bump.
Doctor Who returns tomorrow night in Asylum of the Daleks

(That picture is so awesome)
Being a huge fan of Daleks, I'm very excited. ![]()
Well now... That sure opens up a lot of possibilities. ![]()
That episode was spectacular!
That episode was ruined by bad script. The current guy (is it still Moffit ?) just annoys me, he is too chaotic. What happened to decent stories that lasted over a few episodes. He tries to squeeze too much into one episode and his characters are too querky. I am worried that he is going to slip into giving us another awful Doctor like Sylvester McCoy.

The script was by far the best Dalek story since Remembrance of The Daleks. What's weird about your comment "what happened to stories that lasted over a few episodes" is that EVERYONE who didn't like Moffat complained about Series 5 and 6 for doing that and now when he chose not to and give us single episodes you start complaining that you want it to be the way it was before...
Also I don't see how he tried to squeeze too much into the episode, the pacing was perfect for the situation nothing felt like they needed to spend more time with.
And how would he be able to make Matt Smith into a horrible doctor NOW when he's been the Doctor for 2 whole seasons now?
Btw Sylvester McCoy was a fantastic doctor
I have made some new friends who are all devout 'Whovians', as the terminology goes, so I've been coerced into giving it a shot. Tivoed 'Asylum of the Daleks' for watch today. Matt Smith is great.

I have never ever been disappointed by Moffat, his episodes are usually some of my favorites. Last night's episode was no exception.
I really loved seeing so many Daleks, and crazy Daleks, too, especially ballerina Dalek. xD
I thought the plot twist at the end was very interesting, and quite clever.
So, Daleks have no idea who the doctor is.
This is pretty interesting. I wonder where the Dalek story is going to go from this point.
OK, I've just watched the episode on iPlayer and...well, I didn't like it (I know, you're all dying of shock) but I have a question that will either improve the episode or make me loathe it even more:
Has the Daleks communicating via a telepathic wavelength thingy ever been addressed/established before? Is my memory so bad that I cannot remember a key defining trait about the Daleks?
Since I'm here, I may as well quickly give my criticism: From what I can tell, Moffat absolutely hates the Daleks. He turned them into Powerangers in Series 5, and now he's made them mentally disabled (yeah, REALLY sympathetic portrayl of the mentally handicapped - particularly with the Paralympics going on! If Moffat actually did any research, he could have written some very interesting monsters - rather than just watching One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest for 5 minutes).
The twist was good. Made no sense and ripped off Shutter Island, but it was the only point in the episode I actually cared about something. Apart from that, there was absolutely zero tension. The Daleks just appear out of nowhere (unless the Christmas Special explained something. I refused to watch the Christmas Special because I didn't want my Christmas ruined), the Doctor is like "Oh. This is mildly annoying. My arch nemesis who wiped out my entire home-planet has dragged me here to save them from...something which poses no threat to them. Well, GERUNIMO!!" The insane Daleks were just like the deformed Stone Angels in how they are vastly inferior versions of the original monster and thus not the least bit terrifying, and I honestly wanted Amy and Rory to split up because it would have been a surprisingly mature twist - but then I forgot that Moffat has long since ditched the maturity that made his episodes from the RTD-era so great.
Naturally I hated the ending. Yes...after all that history the Doctor has had with the Daleks, since the second episode of Doctor Who (I'm not talking about the new series - I'm talking about the 60's! Back when they didn't even have colour TV let alone computers!)...AND ITS ALL JUST GONE!!!!
I know Moffat has made it his mission to slowly erase everything RTD established (which I would be fine with if Moffat actually improved the show. At least the RTD-era gave us some excellent episodes to counteract the bad ones) but this is the entire backbone of Doctor Who. The Doctor and the Daleks have known and battled each-over all throughout the show - establishing an epic rivalry that culminated in the near-extinction of both races. And Moffat just comes in and goes "Oh no, the Daleks have completely forgotten about it now! Mwahahahaha!!"
Oh, and the Doctor just leaves this giant Dalek fleet to conquer the universe whilst he skips off?? Don't you think trying to destroy those Daleks is a bit more important than actually helping the Daleks to destroy the insane ones (who aren't exactly going anywhere...unless iPlayer skipped or something)? What about all those Dalek concentration camps? Are you just going to let those poor souls inside die??
Did I say my criticism was going to be 'quick'? Oops, sorry...won't happen again....
Oh shut up Max
You know they're going to somehow twist it back around so that the daleks remember the Doctor or they somehow regain their knowledge or whatever, stop being so butthurt and try to enjoy the silly. This show is always twisting and turning and plot twists and whatnot.
I loved the episode, highly anticipating the dinosaurs on the spaceship because wow yes

I think it's a nice twist.
They hate the doctor for almost fifty years. It's always Daleks trying to kill the Doctor. But now, they just simply don't know who he is. Totally fantastic and unexpected. This is Doctor Who. Anything can happen. It could open up a great deal of possibilities.
But, most likely, the Doctor's going to just mess something up again for them and they'll be right back to absolutely hating him forever. xD
The only things I didn't really like was the Amy and Rory subplot seemed kinda forced and unnatural. Amy was just being silly.
The other thing being that special weapons Dalek didn't get to do anything. ![]()
I was looking forward to seeing one in action.
