Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Double post mini/cat
Episode 12 - Closing time

Spoiler (click to read)

Great episode. Liked the fact that the baby was brought all the way and nobody died. Liked the cybermat, even with the teeth. I noticed that they kept Karen+Arthur in the titles. Also they did brush with fairly mature concepts (gay people) but I suppose if you don't know what it means then it can't hurt you.
Overall, a good episode.

Also, the "Next time" preview look exciting.
Also, I dunno if I have said this before but, the eyepatches on the eyepatch people might have a picture of a silence in them so eyepatch people don't forget. (Talked 'bout that with a freind ages ago, didn't post it)
Also, are Rory and Amy looping? 'Cos the house the doctor "called" them from at the start of the series looks like the one he left them in near the end.
Also(again), why do I write my "reviews?" in a spoiler box when there is "(SPOILER ALERT!)" in the title?

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

The 12th episode was I think one of those more funny episodes than one of those serious ones. It was definitely fun to watch. Craig Owens was definitely a great character, and the actor played him great. However, I didn't really understand the ending - how did the baby, Alfie, really save him? I understood that basically the strength of his feeling to the baby saved him. But, how exactly?

EDIT: Hehe. mini/tongue

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

It's 'cos the Doctor told Craig to focus on one emotion thought (the baby) when he was having his emotions removed but the baby crying set off his emotions that he was focusing on, which broke the emotion suppressor(?) in the cybermen making the fully converted ones blow up and Craig be unconverted. Simple.

Tick Tock Goes The Clock When Craig Gets a Knock
Tick Tock Goes The Clock When Afli gets a Sock
Tick Tock Goes The Clock When The Doctor Opens his lock
Tick Tock Goes The Clock When Gareth writes
Tick Tock Goes The Clock When Doctor Who turns on the lights
Tick Tock Went The Clock When RTD was fake
Tick Tock Goes The Clock as the Doctor dies in a lake.

Thats also what I thought. It would make sense.
I liked the last episode, and next week's also looks good. I'm looking forward to it.

And this isn't really totally Doctor Who related but I got a 30 year old BBC studio chair for my birthday today. Who knows, maybe Tom Baker sat it it!

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I loved Lord Stormageddon. xD That's hilarious. I love the fact Doctor can speak Baby.

This has been my favorite of this half so far, very good, I didn't like it quite so much as The Lodger though. I can't wait to see what happens at the end. I'm sure he won't really die, I find it unlikely they'd just kill a main character. he he

That eye patch theory is brilliant! Makes a lot of sense. Unless she's just some bad guy who they think looks cool with an eye patch.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Well, shes not the only one with an eye patch mind you.

Also as a fun fact, Stormageddon is "Falling Silence" in Greek

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Saw the finale!

Spoiler (click to read)

Turns out I was thinking on the right lines with the eyepatches.
The way the Doctor gets out of dying feels a bit obvious and like cheating, but it's the only other thing he could do outside of using the flesh
Liked the fact that Buckingham Palace houses the holy Roman Emperor Winston Churchill.
So now Amy is the Doctor's mother in law!
Overall good, but I was expecting something a bit more spectacular and the question to be a bit more terrible. "Doctor Who?" what's so bad if people know his name.
Also this should be the last time River and the Doctor meet, but he still hasn't given her a modified old sonic.

Also, I would recommend watching this weeks Doctor Who Confidential, not only does it go over River's story but it has the short episode written by some kids for the competition.
I would have expected something a bit crazier and without

Einstein making himself change into an Ood, just so the line "You went a bit Ood, I mean odd."

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Yes! I can finally watch Doctor Who in HD. mini/delirium

Anyway, watched last night's episode, I thought it was great, and, as I expected from the beginning, the Doctor cleverly cheated death. I really loved the mad mashed up world of April 22nd (and what ever time of the day that was) that was cool.
AND IT HAD CHARLES DICKENS!:D

Also, amusingly, the Doctor's death day (well, not really anymore) also happens to be the same day of the year Nixon died, and then he showed up in the same episode. xD It's also Earth Day.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Damn, I totally missed yesterday's episode! I'm gonna have to cath that on internet!

Steven Moffat is such a genius!  The story was so perfectly executed that I wish it was longer.

I loved it! I just loved it! I got it downloaded in a great a quality, and it was perfect! As

The story was amazing, I enjoyed it so much I can't wait until Christmas 2011 at all! mini/bigsmile I mostly loved the whole ending, and the way it was done. It was all really explained in this episode, everything I didn't understood was explained for me in this episode! I was pretty much expecting a 12th doctor until the ending, but then when it showed

Spoiler (click to read)

how the doctor survived, and it was a bit obvious that the 11th doctor will stay for a bit longer.

The stroy was just amazing! Though I have been thinking,

Spoiler (click to read)

how can a living person trick time?

But it's a TV show, so what the hell! mini/bigsmile But as I said, I loved it! It was all so exciting with the amazing music playing in, I just loved it! With the ending lines, "Doctor Who!" It was just perfect! The only thing I noticed was that the silence didn't have such a big role in the episode, but it still found it's way. Perfect! mini/love

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Okay so my uncle made this tape of random clips from different sci-fi/fanstasy things and one of the clips was of like this weird guy with a cloak and he didn't have eyes but he had like a vampire mouth and apparently it was from Dr. Who. I don't watch the show, but I was wondering what the heck was that??!?!?!

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Sounds like the trickster of the Sarah Jane Adventures

AAAAAAGGGHHHHH IT'S SO SCAAARYY!!!
That clip has assured that I shall NEVER watch Dr. Who (for sanity's sake) mini/tongue

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Been watching Doctor Who since Jon Pertwee / Tom Baker days. For me the highlight has to be the David Tennant series. Which is a surprise as I always loved Tom Baker.

The latest series is appalling. I've sort of got used to Matt Smith, its the writing I can't stand the last episode was just terrible. Appallingly written.

It felt disjointed, chaotic, it felt like it was written by a 12 year old on the way to school, who had realised he had forgotten to do his homework and just wrote in a frenzy to get something down on paper to hand in.

The current writer is terrible, (moffit ?) he thinks he is clever with his little story arcs but they aren't brilliant he also relies to much on Deux Ex Machina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deux_ex_machina

I was getting sick of all the Amy and Rory stories, what has happend to normal Doctor Who episode where they go to a planet and wind up in a situation, where the story is over a few episodes and is properly thought out and well written. Instead of rushed one episode stories.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Topit, don't let the funny aliens scare you, Doctor Who is a wonderful show which needs to be watched.

Also, on a random note...

Does this make anyone else think of this?
