Become a partner. Or you can do the n00b thing and totally interrupt the video and place the picture that you want as the thumbnail. I'd reccomend the first one.

I also have a question how do you become a partner
at first I though you needed 100 subscribers
but I looked and it said something about having so many views on you films

I just got this thing for my channel where I can monetize all my videos. (put ads up to earn money.) 
I probably wont do it for much videos because ads are very annoying.

Also, I got the monetisation thing a while ago, but I haven't used it yet.
I just read some e-mails on my other e-mail account and found one for monetisation sent 4 days ago, I signed up for it, just waiting for YouTube to accept my account.
I just made a new background and profile picture for my YT account.
Tell me what you and how i could change it.

EDIT: oh, and the figures in the background are characters from my previous videos, if you didn't know.

Spam other peoples YouTube. Say things like "check out my vids for awesomeness" "I subb u sub back?" You get the idea.
