Re: Bim Community Project

If we plan on doing a Lego boom-de-yada, I'm more than willing to animate as many shots as need be.  Just throwing that out there. mini/wink

Re: Bim Community Project

I think Boom de yadda is a good place to start.
its simple catchy and should get us committed to do another one. mini/bigsmile

Re: Bim Community Project

I also like this idea. I would like to help if possible! Though whoever organizes this should set some rules up like...

1. You must use the (for example) QCP9000.
2. Must meet a certain animation skill level.
3. Must be entered by a certain deadline.

I know this is stating the obvious but It's something to start on.

If we were going to do one, I think that Boom De Yada would be awesome. I'm in if we do.

I don't have a Qcp9000! and am not going to be able to afford one for a long time.
I don't think it is fair to limit the animators to the hardware that have. mini/confused
Otherwise I agree with your other requirements.

The nice thing about doing Boom De Yadda is that it is really a bunch of little snippets
so if we use a different resolution it wont look as bad

I hope I would qualify for the amount of skill level
I have been working hard on my animations and am proud of the results so far.

The reason I put that rule in was so everyone would have a similar video quality. Most people have a QCP9000(if I'm not mistaken). But how about this instead.

You must use the (for example) QCP9000 OR approved video quality.

Also, someone should do mouth movements for the entire film.

yes I agree that our video quality should be similar.
I just kinda freaked out because I though that I might not be able to do this. mini/sweat

I was just thinking about this the other day. mini/lol
Boom de yadda would look much nicer with mouth animation
but I don't think it would be easy for someone to do mouth animations for an entire film of someone else's clips
If someone is willing to try; I say go ahead!

Would a C910 be ok?

Re: Bim Community Project

I don't think that we should have a certain rule on which specific camera that you have to use, though there should be a limit on the quality that your camera has to have.

Re: Bim Community Project

How about a set resolution? Like 720p.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Bim Community Project

If we realy make a LEGO boom de yada,im in!!!
Also,i'm gonna start making scenes fro the BiM project. mini/smile
Does an Olympus stylius 7010 qualify?

Re: Bim Community Project

Well, I'm in. Though I think we could do something better than a song, maybe a day of a brickfilmer or something? And I really think that it's pointless that only those who have Pro 9000 can film this project, since let's face it - it's more interesting with different cameras.

Yeah, Im in too. But I think the song sounds really good. I think we should do that.

Oh, and as

I'm sure if we asked Nathan Wells he would let us put it on the WeTheBrickfilmers channel, which was created for comprods. It would have to be very good though, with such a long gap since the last video it would have to be something special.

That would be a very good idea, since there's loads of people subscribed to that account, saying over and over again "Upload more videos!" So, that'd be probably the best thing to do if we got this project finished.

Did anyone see my updated rule?

Plus it was just an example it's not an official rule.

What Bim Project?

Re: Bim Community Project

Well, today I thought a lot about this, I started to have ideas for it, and I came to the conclusion that if we start the Boom de Yada project I'm 100% in it, with all my soul, and there's nothing that can take me away from it (well, except not being taken for it). I don't have much to do for school anyway (at least for now), and even if I did, I would still have time to shoot at least 10 seconds of animation. I offer as an animator, editor and, well, voice actor I guess (obviously only in case editors and voice actors are missing for this).
Also, following the discussion of the "rules" to "get in", I think that an audition (or just showing the last animation released) would be a good way to decide who does what: that way organizers can see what are your skills in animation, camera quality, effects, that kind of stuff.
It seems that enough people shows interest in this for now.

Re: Bim Community Project

I'd love to help, but I have a T2i so the quality difference would be quite severe. :c
